Welcome to the WPA family new members Rae Ann and Nicholas DiBaggio. I hope to see you at some of the events. Happy birthday to all the September born, especially our new grand baby! Happy anniversary to those celebrating this month. I wish you many more years of happiness together. Get well wishes to those under the weather or in the hospital, especially Elizabeth Daley-Hewitt, Donny Dugan and Rae Ann DiBaggio. Kelly-Lovasz First things, first-a reminder that Branch 296's bacon roast (szalonna sütés) returns on Sunday, Sept. 17, once again at Oakmont's Riverside Park. The grills will be ready for 1:00 p.m., and we'll continue until around 5:00 p.m. The park is located behind Riverview High School at the end of the Hulton Bridge. For GPS users, plug in the address 200 Hulton Road, Oakmont. Parking is available in the lot behind the school, just a short walk from the pavilion. Follow the signs with the red, white and green balloons. We'll be waiting for you with smiles, hugs and great food! Please come hungry. Branch 296 will again provide the bacon, hot dogs and fixings, and if you would be kind enough to bring a side dish or dessert to share, that would be terrific. Back by popular demand, I'll bring a crock of my homemade baked beans. RSVP by Sept. 8 by calling me at 724-274-5318 or Diane Torma at 724- 882-3802. Beautiful Riverside Park awaits you! Friends from neighboring branches are welcome, as are other like-minded folks. If you'd care to play tennis or basketball before or after your meal, there are courts available. Bring the little ones, too, for the super-fun playground. A relaxing time is planned, and it'll be even better if you'll join us. Birthday wishes to all of our 296-ers in the month of September, especially Josh Borland, a great helper and an Eagle Scout in the making. Belated wishes to his cute, little nieces, Cadance and Lily, and to Branch Treasurer Toni Kosheba. Get well wishes to both Helen and Mary Ann Slaninka. You two are such tremendous assets to our branch, and we want you to feel strong and better. The same goes for all of our members who are experiencing health issues at this time; we wish you a speedy recovery. Heartfelt condolences to each of you who have lost a loved one recently, as well. A special welcome to our new Branch 296 members. I see that we have a nice number who are now in our fold. We hope to see you at our events! Please save the date Nov. 26 for our annual branch family Christmas party. More details will follow. By the time you read this, school will be in session. Learning is a lifelong process, and we hope that all students have a successful and worthwhile academic year. Next month, I'll congratulate our Branch 296 new WPFASF, Inc. grant recipients. James Barra, along with his sister Lilly and his mother Sara (in background) - all members of Branch 352 - recently volunteered to help spruce up a local park. Branch 296 resumes its monthly meetings on Thursday, Sept. 14 af 6:30 p.m., at King's Family Restaurant in New Kensington. As always, we welcome you to join us. Please come to our meeting if you have life insurance coverage or annuity questions. Our dynamic agent Noreen Fritz, FIC, LUTCF, will be in attendance to help you, if needed. You can also contact Noreen by phone at 412-821-1837 or by email at noreenbunny.fritz@verizon.net. Go out and enjoy September, everyone.
