Branch News Myron Yeager, 94, Branch 800's oldest active member and branch auditor, attended the branch’s annual Christmas party. ing a birthday this month. May you have many more, and may all of them be healthy. We would like to welcome all new members of Branch 352. Remember, if you have any news you would like to share, or if you have any life insurance questions, please contact me at 412-319-7116 or by email at dmckinsey@hotmail.com. Branch 525 Los Angeles, CA by Sárika Gotz Our Christmas party was held at the Southern California Hungarian Club. We were happy to co-host this party with the club, allowing the members of both organizations to celebrate the holidays together. The children attending were so excited at the sight of Santa and his helpers. I don't know who was happier, the children or their parents and grandparents. Our program chair, Jo Ann, asked the children if they knew what the meaning of Christmas is. Many said "toys," but one special child said "the birth of baby Jesus." A special thank you to the WPA Home Office for both financially supporting our Cliristmas party and the McDonald's gift cards. We hope the new year 2014 brings peace in the world, along with good health and happiness for all. Pray for our troops. May they return home safely. Please contact me at 909-350-1620 if you would like me to put your news in our next branch report. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Dave Greiner Branch 800 hopes all members had a wonderful Christmas and a good beginning to the new year. Our branch sends out congratulations to our Association as it celebrates its 128th anniversary as the only Hungarian fraternal benefit society in the United States. WPA flourishes because it preaches and practices fraternalism, brotherhood and financial security. February is the month that puts Punxsutawney, Pa., in the local, state and national spotlight. On Feb. 2, Groundhog Day, everyone wonders whether or not Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow. Feb. 14 is also a special day. Don't forget to make that day special for your favorite Valentine. Cards, flowers, candy and a romantic night out usually head the list of things to make it a memorable day. President's Day is also celebrated this month, on the third Monday, Feb. 17. We celebrate this national holiday to honor all presidents, but especially George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Our branch lost one of its members, Jo Ann Brynes. She always looked forward to our summer picnic and Christmas party. We extend our sympathy to her family. Our branch completed a successful internal audit of our branch records for 2013 in January. We look forward to a prosperous 2014. Winter sports are going strong this month. We wish all District 6 high school girls and boys basketball teams good luck, especially the teams at Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School. We also wish the Pittsburgh Penguins success in their drive for the Stanley Cup. Branch 800 wishes a happy birthday to all members celebrating during the month of February. Don't forget to contact Bob Jones for all your life insurance and annuity needs at 814-942-2661. Are your beneficiaries up to date? That’s a question you may not have asked yourself very often, if ever. But, it’s one you should ask yourself at least once a year. We can’t stress enough the importance of regularly checking the beneficiaries listed on your life insurance certificates. It is the only way to ensure that the people you want to receive the benefits of your life insurance are the ones who will receive it. Think about the changes that have occurred in your life since you purchased your life insurance. Getting married, having children, losing a loved one, getting remarried--all these life changes affect your responsibilities. In some states, divorce may make your beneficiaries null and void. Do the beneficiaries currently listed on your life insurance certificates reflect such changes? If you think you need to update the beneficiaries listed on your certificates--either primary or secondary beneficiaries-contact your WPA representative. Or, call our Home Office toll-free at 1-800-848-7366. William Penn Life 0 February 2014 0 27
