Will we have six more weeks of winter? Yep, February is here. With Groundhog Day, Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine's Day, boy, it is going to be a busy month. Since we did not have a branch report last month, let me back up a little bit with some of the previous month's activities. In December, we did a lot of celebrating. The children's Christmas party was a success thanks to Zita Prowse and her helpers. The adult Christmas party was also a lot of fun. We had a great band and great food. Thanks to all the members who came out to make it such a great time. And one last get together for the year, the New Year's Eve party, was a blast. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make all of these celebrations so wonderful. In January, all we did was try to stay warm in the below-zero weather. Gotta love Pennsylvania winters. Welcome to new members Debbie Mariano and Tammy Paulsen. We are happy to have you join the William Penn family. A big "happy birthday" to everybody celebrating a birthday in February, and congratulations to those celebrating anniversaries. Our meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every month at the Verhovay Home Association on 29th Street in Harrisburg. Please come out and help make the decisions that affect your club. I would love to hear about any special days or people in your lives: birthdays, graduations, home from serving in the military, special awards received or a shut-in who would appreciate a card every now and then. Anything that you would like to share, I would be happy to include it in William Penn Life. Please contact me, Barbara Kreiser, at 717- 418-3369 or email me at Barbara_Kreiser@yahoo.com. Keep in mind, if you have any life insurance or annuity needs, whether you just need a policy tune up, are looking for a new policy or know someone who is, call Charles Johns at 717-439-8620. Branch 352 Coraropolis, PA by Dora S. McKinsey Happy Valentine's Day! May you and your loved ones be blessed this day and every day. This month marks the 128th anniversary of William Penn Association. Congratulations to the Association and to all the past and present members who have made it possible for the Association to continue to provide its members with the best possible insurance plans and annuity rates and be able to offer all the different fraternal activities over the years. William Penn Life lists just a few of the upcoming events scheduled for the year 2014. Please try to attend as many of them as you can, for only with your support can the Association continue to provide its members with the best possible fraternal service. Our next scheduled event is the Annual Bowling Tournament. Everyone had a great time last year, and this year promises to be even better. Make sure to check out all the information in this issue of William Penn Life. Also keep in mind our 31st Annual Golf Tournament & Scholarship Days will be held July 18 and 19 at Quicksilver Golf Course in Midway, Pa. Several changes are being planned for the Friday night golfers reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, and it should be a fun time. If you, your child or your grandchild is or will be attending an institution of higher learning in 2014, remember to check the scholarship eligibility rules to obtain a scholarship. Every little bit of money available to help with your education is well worth the effort to apply for. Get well wishes go out to Arlene Csornán and all those who are feeling under the weather.
