May you be blessed with good health and happiness throughout 2014. Our Christmas party was held Dec. 7 at the Grove City Elks Club. We had about 175 members and guests in attendance. The party started off with a great magic show. It was followed by an excellent meal catered by the Hungarian Cultural Association of Columbus, consisting of cabbage rolls, sausage and kraut, fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, a veggie tray and kiflis for dessert. After the meal, Santa visited with all the children. The children were given gifts bags provided by the Home Office, a wrapped present and a monetary gift provided by our branch. Several door prizes were given out to adults in attendance. A great time was had by all. Many thanks to the Home Office for the monetary assistance to help make this another great fraternal event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 6, for this year's Christmas party. Our branch again participated in the WPA Holiday Basket program, and we were able to help provide assistance to three families. There will be another Soup & Learn session Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 365 Woodrow Ave., Columbus. Soup will be served at 11:15 a.m. followed by a program presented by the Hungarian Culture Club. The program will feature the 2012 Hungarian TV documentary "Louis Kossuth in America/' which discusses Kossuth's 1851-1852 tour of the U.S. and his legacy. Parts of this 2}/i hour film were made in Columbus, Cleveland and Kossuth, Ohio. Our next meeting will be held at the Hungarian Reformed Church on Tuesday, March 4, at 5:00 p.m. Hope to see more members in attendance. We need your input. Several of our members are already planning to attend the WPA Annual Bowling Tournament May 2 and 3. It is a great time. Please join us.
