Branch News Be sure to mark your calendars for the WPA events taking place in 2014: • May 2-3, WPA Annual Bowling Tournament at the Meadows; • May 10, Branch 14 Join Hands Day project; •June 7, Hungarian Heritage Night with the Lake Erie Captains in Eastlake, Ohio; • July 18-19, WPA Annual Golf Tournament & Scholarship Days at Quicksilver G.C.; • Aug. 3-9, WPA Hungarian Heri­tage Experience at Scenic View; • Sept. 6, WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest at Scenic View; • September 2014, WPA Trip to Hungary; and • Nov. 22, Branch 14 family Christmas party. Be sure to check William Penn Life each month for updates and regis­tration information for all activities. We would like to send a big "thank you" to the WPA Home Of­fice for its continuing support of our branch activities. The gift items we distribute are always unique and enjoyed by the membership. We also thank the Home Office staff for preparing the mailings of the maga­zine, brochures, gift items, calendars and other goodies we receive. Your actions are appreciated. The officers of Branch 14 welcome all our new members. We wish our Branch 14 student members continued success in their studies this school year. The officers of Branch 14 extend our sympathy to those WPA mem­bers who have recently lost a loved one. May they rest in peace. Get well wishes are being sent to all Branch 14 and WPA members who might be feeling under the weather. We send get well wishes to the Rev. Peter Toth and Arlene Cso­rnán as they continue to heal. Please keep all of our members in your prayers. We look forward to seeing everyone at our 2014 activities. Happy birthday and happy an­niversary wishes are being sent to all of our branch members and Home Office staff celebrating a birthday and/or anniversary in February or March. Happy belated birthday to Elizabeth Molnár of Painesville, Ohio, who celebrated her 90th birth­day on Dec. 23, 2013. Winter is now upon us on the North Coast, and our next Branch 14 meeting will take place on Wednes­day, March 5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at The First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills, Ohio. Tommy, Gabby and I are in Florida breaking many records with some pretty warm temperatures. If we could send some to you, we would. The only thing we can send are very warm wishes and loads of love. As usual, we wish our lives away by saying "think spring." That's the best we can do. Spring brings our annual bowling event in May. A great big "thank you" to all who participate in making our monthly publication, William Penn Life, so successful. Every month, I see it grow and get better and bet­ter. I know it takes work and a lot of time, but you are so appreciated. Thank you so much. Loraine Randall won our Charity - of-the-Month again. She again chose the Brownstown Animal Shelter. Branch 18 supports the animal shelter all year long. We are always accepting donations. This winter is particularly hard on our animal friends. Please help. We also thank Loraine for becom­ing our official Branch 18 photogra­pher. You do a wonderful job. We appreciate your hard work. We are still on winter break from branch meetings. We will resume on April 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungar­ian American Cultural Center on Goddard Road, Taylor. Hope to see you there. Congratulations to Ursula and Tamas Markovits, the guests of honor at this year's White Rose Ball. Thank you for all you do to keep our Hungarian heritage alive and well. We appreciate all your hard work. Remember, God has blessed us all with unique talents that can serve our branches. Please do all you can to keep your branch active.
