Branch News Young members of Branch 89 enjoy bowling during the branch’s annual family Christmas party held Dec. 7 at Brunswick Playmor Bowling Lanes. with Branch President John S. Toth greeting all of the adults and chil­dren. He thanked them for coming out in some very cold weather. John also distributed candy canes to all in attendance, and later could be found checking with all of the bowlers and guests to make sure everything was fine. John and Santa even made a visit to another fraternal group also having a Christmas party and distributed goody bags. Now, that's fraternalism! Branch 89 wishes to thank every­one who helped make this year's family Christmas party and bowling such a huge success. We hosted the largest number of children—86—since we changed the party's venue. We had people calling just hours before the event to ask if they could still come. Our total attendance for this event was an all-time high of 120 people. We thank William Penn Asso­ciation, Branch President Toth and our branch officers for their con­tributions to the children's goody bags. We also thank our Branch Secretary-Treasurer Ruth Toth and Branch Auditor Mark Maskarinec for assembling the bags. Thanks also go to members Sandy Ardale, Janet Phillips, Vera Recktosh and Devon Wittpenn for helping at the bowling lanes. Prior to our Christmas party, we held a meeting during which we thanked our branch officers as they begin the second year of their two­­year term: President John S. Toth Jr., Vice President Timothy E. Toth, Secretary-Treasurer Ruth D. Toth, and Auditors Mark S. Maskarinec and Lisa S. Toth-Maskarinec. Our branch coordinator will be Lisa S. Toth-Maskarinec. We congratulate these individuals and thank them for continuing to take an active interest in WPA and Branch 89. We extend get well wishes to branch members Michael Kranack and Patricia Walochik and hope they're on a rapid road to good health. We're thinking of you both. May 2014 bring you both great health and strength. Branch 89 continues to collect codes from Coke products. These codes will be turned into points which can then be redeemed for 24 ° January 2014 0 William Penn Life various merchandise and prizes to be used at our outings, such as gift certificates, tote bags, etc. We distributed many at the branch golf outing last year. We have collected and redeemed more than 5,000 Coke Rewards points. In doing so, we will be able to give away higher-valued merchandise for next to no cost for the branch. We are also collecting Kellogg's Family Rewards Points this year. The Kellogg's catalog includes an entire section of Wilson sporting goods items, many of which are re­lated to golf. The codes can be found inside boxes of Kellogg's, Keebler, Sunshine and Morningstar Farms products featuring the Kellogg's A date to remember Deadline for submissions to our magazine is the 10th day of each month. A few branch activities in the planning stages are: • all-night cosmic bowling; • a murder mystery dinner the­ater at Westwood Golf Club, possi­bly in February; • a weekend trip to New York City; • a night at the casino; • a branch outing at the ball park; and • a dinner-and-a-movie night. While we may not be as big as some of the other branches, we are still strong and look forward to meeting a lot of our members in the upcoming year at some of these events.
