Our annual family Christmas party with Branch 352 Coraopolis, Pa., and Branch 71 Duquesne, Pa., was held Nov. 24 at the Sports Haven Bowl in Bridgeville, Pa. A special "thank you" goes to everyone who attended and helped with this special event. We couldn't do it without you. Everyone who came enjoyed the bowling, food, prizes and most of all, Santa Claus' arrival. Branches 34, 71 and 352 would like to thank the Board of Directors and Home Office staff for helping to make the holiday season always enjoyable for our young members. Last, but certainly not least, Santa: thanks for joining us. We would like to extend happy birthday wishes to all branch members celebrating their birthdays. Branch 51 Passaic, NJ by Christine Baldyga Our branch Christmas party was held Dec. 1 at the American-Hungarian Club in Garfield, N.J. Entertainment was provided by Bill Bosenberg of Snakes-N-Scales, which is a reptile rescue organization that rescues sick or abandoned reptiles. He brought with him two turtles, two snakes and an alligator. He provided information on each reptile, including how they were rescued, the food they ate and their natural habitat. Everyone at the party had the opportunity to touch the reptiles and ask questions. Everyone enjoyed the show. Bill's organization is comprised of a group of professionals who work toward the proper care and preservation of the reptiles rescued. Christmas carols were sung, and Santa Claus arrived. Santa spoke with the children and gave each a gift and the McDonald's gift card provided by the Home Office. Refreshments were served, and the afternoon was enjoyed by all. Thanks to the WPA Board of Directors and the Home Office for their assistance in making the party a success. Before the party, the branch had a meeting. It was agreed that a Mass for deceased members of the branch would be held on March 16 at St. Stephen's Church in Passaic, N.J. We wish everyone a happy and healthy new year. Branch 89 Homestead, PA by Lisa S. Toth-Maskarinec Branch 89 hopes everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that 2014 will bring much prosperity, health and good cheer to one and all.
