Branch News have the opportunity to be a part of the Hungarian Cultural Garden's history as they witness the expan­sion and further development of the Lower Hungarian Cultural Garden with the Legacy Wall. Mark your calendar to attend this festive day filled with music, Hungarian danc­ers and entertainment.- 13th Annual WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest, Sept. 7. We will have a full bus going from Cleve­land to Rockwood, Pa. Call Branch Coordinator Violet Sarosi at 1-440- 248-9012 to see if anyone cancels. Please check William Penn Life for updates on all 2013 activities. Branch 14 would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Lesco family on the recent passing of Steve E. Lesco Sr. on May 27, 2013. Mr. Lesco was a former member of the WPA Board of Directors and an of­ficer of Branch 14. Although he will be missed by his family and friends, we should find comfort in knowing that he is at home with the Lord. May he rest in peace. We would also like to extend our sympathy to those WPA members who have recently lost a loved one. Get well wishes go to all Branch 14 members who might be feeling under the weather. We would like to continue to send get well wishes to the Rev. Peter Toth of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Lorain, Ohio. It was good to see Rev. Toth at the Calvin Synod barbeque at Scenic View. We wish him well as he continues to heal. May God bless him on his road to recovery. Please keep all of our members in your prayers and wish them a speedy recovery. Happy birthday and anniversary wishes go to all of our branch mem­bers celebrating a July or August birthday and/or anniversary. We send best wishes to our high school and college graduates. Branch 14 would like to congratu­late Micah Üveges, who graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University in May. Micah was com­missioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force after completing three years of ROTC. 2nd Lt. Üveges reports to the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., where he will be trained as a navigator. Congratula­tions are sent to 2nd Lt. Üveges (pictured here) on a job well done. All the best to you in your future endeavors. The entire Üveges family can be very proud of him. Our next branch meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills, Ohio. House Happy Independence Day! Thank you to all the members of our armed forces who secure our independence. Thank you to all who made our bowling event another success. I heard nothing but high praise from all who attended. I never knew lob­ster would make such an impression (I'm allergic.) The pictures I've seen are definite memory makers. Thank you, Helen Sryniawski, for uphold­ing Branch 18's winning streak. Thank you to all of you officers and employees who again went above and beyond the call of duty. Now, we go golfing. Hope to see you all there. That will be followed by our wonderful Hungarian Heritage Ex­perience the first week of August. I will be there for a few days. We had such a great time last year. We were completely booked by March this year. That is the nicest compliment we could receive. Mark your calendars for our won­derful WPA Picnic in September. I am taking reservations for our bus to take you there. Your cost is $90 per person. Special hello to Pam George, Alan Szabó and Karen Deren. Our Branch 18 Charity-of-the- Month was won by Tibor Deri. He chose St. Vincent de Paul. He remembered them for all the help he received when he emigrated from Hungary. We also supported Our Lady of the Angels' church festival. We donated all the hot dogs and onions.
