Branch News and the Hobo made various balloon shapes. This is always a big hit with the children. The refreshments included pizza, cookies and ice cream which everyone enjoyed and were prepared and served by numerous branch volunteers. Seeing all the excited children definitely got everyone in the Christmas spirit. The branch and Home Office's generous financial support for the Christmas party is a testament to the fact that these children are the future of William Penn. This marvelous Christmas party is one of many fraternal benefits we offer. The branch also sponsors outings to Northfield Park racetrack, the Lake Erie Captains baseball game on Hungarian night in Eastlake and the annual WPA golf tournament. Beside these activities, William Penn also provides excellent life insurance plans and annuities. Branch 14 continues to grow. We welcome new members Madison Bregitzer, Cole Welker, Elizabeth Vargo, David Valentine, Jacob Jacko and Margaret Murphy. Call the Ward Agency at 440-838-1200 with any prospective new members and earn Recommender Bucks. The next branch meeting will be held on Wednesday March 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bethlen Hall of the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills. All Branch 14 members are welcome to attend and enjoy fellowship and refreshments. Branch 15 Chicago, IL by Eva Laczina-Voris On Dec. 19, Branch 15, along with the Magyar Club of Chicago, celebrated the Christmas holiday with an array of traditions at St. Stephen King of Hungary Church in Chicago. The event began with the Hungarian School and Scout Troup performing a traditional production of the journey to Bethlehem, along with Hungarian Christmas songs. The cast has always maintained the connection between young and veteran participants. After the performance, Mikulás made a traditional appearance and passed out goodies to the children. Treats and toys were in abundance. Finally, as with any Hungarian event, food and drink were plentiful. We enjoyed biscuits, sausages and homemade pastries. On behalf of Branch 15, we wish you and your family a bright, happy and healthy new year. Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI by Barbara A. House 2011 has arrived. Can you believe it? I remember when some were worried about the year 2000. But we all survived. We all hope that it will be a happier and more prosperous year for all. I hope all your holidays were wonderful. Welcome new members Madelyn and Kellilyn Rush. Thank you, Jacquelyn Abraham. Welcome also Mary Ann Deri and Albert Frate. Thank you to Jacquelyn Abraham, Lou Deregi and Julius Bubenko for adding to their coverage. Also, thank you to Deac Sabo and Emma Poliska for thinking of WPA and me for your investments. I promise to take good care of all of you. We received donations from the Hungarian Arts Club and Julius Sabo for the Red Sludge Fund. Thank you very much. Remember, WPA will match all donations. Wow, Branch 18! Was that a Christmas party, or what? You really came to the aid of our food pantry for people and animals. We had kids running everywhere. Santa was great. (Thanks, Santa.) Jeff, our magician, was fun. The food was super. Raffle prizes were great. (Thanks, Beata.) And, as usual, our crew was wonderful. Thank you to Carol and Doug Truesdell, Rose Antal, Kay Momtsios, Amy Polakowski, Eileen Gonzales, Clara Varga, Helen Molnár, Elsie and Bob Kantor and Tom House. It really takes a village to entertain that many people. Look out next year. We have already made plans to make it bigger and better. Branch 18 also sent out $500 in Walmart gift cards to the needy. We sure had a lot of requests for help this year, human and animal. We are still collecting for Basil's Buddies.
