Are your beneficiaries up to date? That’s a question you may not have asked yourself very often, if ever. But, it’s one you should ask yourself at least once a year. We can’t stress enough the importance of regularly checking the beneficiaries listed on your life insurance certificates. It is the only way to ensure that the people you want to receive the benefits of your life insurance are the ones who will receive it. Think about the changes that have occurred in your life since you purchased your life insurance. Getting married, having children, losing a loved one, getting divorced, getting remarriedall these life changes affect your responsibilities. Do the beneficiaries currently listed on your life insurance certificates reflect such changes? If you think you need to update the beneficiaries listed on your certificates--either primary or secondary beneficiaries-contact your WPA representative. Or, call our Home Office toll-free at 1-800-848-7366. Branch News sociation group to Hungary in 2008, I am feeling a bit envious because I know they are on another trip there as I write this. I hope I will have another opportunity to go on a future WPA trip. I returned recently from a trip to Michigan to visit my daughter Pam and her husband Scott and celebrate my youngest grandson Alex McGlade's 4th birthday. Alex is a juvenile member of William Penn Association, along with his two older brothers, Scott and Stephen, and his sister Samantha. Luckily, I was also able to attend a couple of little league football games and a gymnastics class. I would love to hear from Branch 59 Windber members, particularly if you have any newsworthy items so I may include them in upcoming issues of William Penn Life. Please feel free to call me at home at 814-509- 6190 in Windber, or write to me at 243 Hoffman Ave., Apt. 301, Windber, PA 15963. Like me, my only brother John and his wife Ursula, have moved back to Windber after a 50-year absence. They had been living in Michigan, Florida and Germany. I am extremely excited about their return home. Since Halloween has past, I'm hoping all the little ghosts and goblins were well rewarded on their "begging" ventures at the end of October. I want to extend warm greetings to all who have birthdays or anniversaries in November, and I wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving Day. Lastly, let's not forget our military personnel and pray for their safe return home soon. Branch 249 Dayton, OH by Mark Schmidt Branch 249 hopes everyone had a happy and safe summer. Now that fall is here, wasn't the WPA Picnic the best ever Fraternal-Fest? Great food, family fun and fraternalism were enjoyed by all. It doesn't get any better than that. And yet the William Penn Home Office staff continually makes each year's picnic better than the last. Thank you for the great job. On the local front, the September Szüreti Bál held at the Old Troy Pike Community Church Kossuth Hall was a great success. Young and old enjoyed the live music of the band Harmonia, food from the church's Ladies Guild, Hungarian wines and dancing performed by the Dayton Hungarian Festival Club Dancers. WPA Branch 249 held its bi-annual cabbage roll sale on Sept. 30 with more than 1,000 being sold. Finally, on Oct. 3, the Magyar Club hosted a bacon fry. But as the tree leaves change, so do the events. We have many for you to mark on your calendars. First is the St. Stephen's Catholic Church sausage sale to be held Dec. 2.
