Ward The annual children's Christmas party will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Santa will be there during those hours to distribute gifts. There will be entertainment for the children and pizza, punch, and cookies for all. Branch 14 juvenile members ages 12 and under will receive an invitation this month. The Christmas party is the highlight of the year, and a record number of children are expected to attend due to our expanding membership. Branch 14 member Paul Laslo, of Mentor, Ohio, is quite an accomplished marksman. In August 2010 he attended his first NRA High- Power Rifle Match. At this competition he had an opportunity to observe a new national record established by a young lady in the Army. She only dropped four points out of 2,400. Paul shoots in the service rifle class, and he had a commendable score of 2,150. The match took place over four days at 200, 300 and 600 yards in Port Clinton, Ohio. Paul started shooting while attending Eastern Kentucky University in 1977. There he learned to shoot trap, which is a clay pigeon thrown in the air. That first year he was a member of a five-person team representing EKU and won a third place trophy in trap at the NCAA Nationals. For the next twenty-seven years, Paul won numerous local, state and national events. In the off-season he reloads for the next year and does some snowboarding at Peak-N-Peak in New York. We are very proud of his accomplishments and especially to have him as a longtime member of Branch 14. Paul is the son of late longtime members Rose and Julius Laslo. Our branch young adult members continue to shine. Leah Üveges (pictured here), home-schooled through the Hearts for Jesus Christ Christian Education Institute, recently completed a successful four-year curriculum in which she was class president, competed on the HEARTS volleyball team, and pursued her love and passion for music by participating in various singing groups. This fall she will be attending Liberty University where she will pursue a double major in psychology and business management. Leah is the granddaughter of active branch members Gladys and Lou Üveges and great-granddaughter of late Branch President Rose Arnosky-William Penn Life 0 November 2010 0 21
