Branch News Branch 8 Johnstown, PA by Dorothy Kedves We hope we'll have a mild winter. We held a branch meeting Nov. 20 during which we elected officers for the coming year and made plans for the branch Christmas party and Holiday Baskets. Our newly elected officers are: Ernest Kedves, president; David S. Kozak, vice president; Dorothy Kedves, secretary-treasurer; and Mary Groshans and Elaine Engle, auditors. We purchased holiday dinners for three needy families. All were grateful. God bless them. Ho! Ho! Ho!...We had a wonderful Christmas party. The weather was really nice and mild, and Santa came in with a bang. The children were really happy to see him, and they told him all their Christmas wishes. Santa gave them all a bag of goodies and toys that were provided by the Home Office. Janel Kozak helped the children make Christmas ornaments, create cards for their families and decorate gingerbread cookies, some of which were unique. Everyone enjoyed Christmas music and lots of food and snacks. It is always nice to meet with old friends and share holiday cheer. Articles & photos for the Februrary issue of the William Penn Life are due in our office by January 16 Young members of Branch 8 show off the gingerbread cookies they decorated during the branch’s annual family Christmas party. We wish all members of the WPA a happy, healthy new year. For all your life insurance and annuities needs, please call Branch Coordinator Alexis Yuhas Kozak at 814-242-0000. It's hard to believe another year has passed, and it's already 2010. The children's Christmas party was held on Sunday, Dec. 13, at the St. Clair Lanes in St. Clairsville, Ohio. The morning of the Christmas party came and brought with it cold, rain and black ice on just about every street and highway. The weather forecasters were saying by afternoon These youngsters were among the children who enjoyed bowling during a family Christmas party hosted jointly by Branches 10, 40, 248, 349 and 8164. temperatures would rise and melt the ice—so the party was still on! Unfortunately, the bad weather early in the day kept many away. But those who did arrive were in for a very fun afternoon of bowling, entertainment, food and gift bags. Everyone enjoyed the party and had a great time.
