Branch News Branch 14 _ Cleveland, OH j_ by Dawn D. Ward The annual Branch 14 children's party will be held Saturday, Dec. 6. The open-house format from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. gives families the flexibility to attend at their convenience. In addition to Sparkles the Clown, we will also be entertained by "Balloonatic", a zany, balloon sculptor. Children will receive their invitations a few weeks before the party, but all branch members are welcome to attend. This annual event, which involves more than 100 children, will certainly get you in the Christmas spirit. We were saddened by the sudden death of Branch 14 Vice President Tom Levi. Tom and his late wife, Vera, were active members who especially enjoyed attending the annual picnic at Penn Scenic View where they could indulge their mutual love of Hungarian music. Tom and Vera will be greatly missed. It is gratifying to see how William Penn members continue to promote the Hungarian Heritage. Elaine and Betty Rose Galgany have been teaching Hungarian dance for 26 years for the annual harvest festival at the First Hungarian Reformed Church in Cleveland. This year's festival, held last month, was a great success with 40 costumed dancers, ranging in age from three to 24 years of age. More than 350 people attended. Jeff and I attended this marvelous event and thoroughly enjoyed the music, food, and dancers. (See the article on Page 11 for more on the history of the Galgany family's contribution to this wonderful undertaking-) The branch welcomes the following new members: Trevor Browand, Tristan Browand, Karen Erdman, Joshua Hayes, Jeno Kiss, Alberto Moccia and Linda Vargo. Please refer any prospective new members to the Ward Agency at 440-838-1200 and earn Recommender Bucks! In order to retain their tax-exempt, non-profit status, the WPA and other fraternal organizations must be able to document their charitable and philanthropic endeavors for the Internal Revenue Service. Branch members who volunteer for any charitable cause are encouraged to report their activity to Branch 14 President Caroline Lanzara. President Lanzara can be reached at 216- 581-8979. The next branch meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bethlen Hall of the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills. Branch members are welcome to attend and enjoy an evening of refreshments and fellowship. Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI by Barbara A.
