Heyz, president; Richard Heyz Jr., vice president; Sandra Zsemko, secretary-treasurer; and Ronald Harris, Malvene Harris and Barbara Sheedy, auditors. All were sworn in and are ready to have a wonderful 2006. Our branch Christmas party was held at the Hungarian Reformed Church in McKeesport. The hall was decorated very festively with miniature Christmas trees as centerpieces and a large tree to greet Santa. The party started with a delicious buffet luncheon that everyone enjoyed. Next was entertainment by Jahinie Productions, who captured the attention of adult and kids alike. Santa Claus arrived and was a big hit. After listening to the children's wishes, he presented gifts and toys furnished by the Home Office and Branch 226. We had a very nice turnout of families for the party. We thank the Home Office for its support throughout the year. We also thank our friends and branch officers whose hard work and time produced a wonderful Christmas party. All of us at Branch 226 wish Julia Genes a happy and healthy 90th birthday on Jan. 28. She was the guest of honor at a lovely surprise party thrown by her family and friends. Some members of the William Penn Association dance group joined members of the Hungarian Reformed Church's youth group to sing Christmas carols at the homes of the elderly and shut-ins. The first time we made them (March 1997) we sold just about 450 cabbage rolls. We now consistently make over 1,000 twice a year. I thank our hard-working members and nonmembers for their continued support of and loyalty to the program. It started out as something to do and immediately changed to a mission of support to our elderly, shut-ins and working parents for a quick, nutritious and inexpensive meal. We hope that you will once again order from us. The sale will be held March 23 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. The cost is $1.50 each.
