Branch News Branch 14 Cleveland, OH by Dawn D. Ward At the September branch meeting, members were honored for their 50- plus years of membership in the William Penn Association. Those in attendance were presented with certificates by Branch President Caroline Lanzara. After the meeting everyone had the opportunity to renew acquaintances while enjoying refreshments, which included a delicious party tray, a beautifully decorated cake which read "Con­gratulations for 50-plus Years of William Penn Membership," and fantastic brownies made by Mary Dorulla. During the meeting it was decided to sponsor an outing to Northfield Park Racetrack, on Friday, Oct. 27, for a buffet dinner and a chance to bet on the trotters. Congratulations to Branch 14 member Michael Murphy, who was named to the dean's list at the Univer­sity of Dayton for the spring semester. He is a sophomore majoring in business and finance, and had an internship this summer at Charles Schwab and Company. Michael plays intramural baseball and is currently training to become an emergency medical technician. Keep up the good work, Mike! The annual Branch 14 Christmas party will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Bethlen Hall of the First Hungarian Reformed Church, Walton Hills, Ohio. All juvenile members will receive invita­tions, but all adult members are welcome to attend. The next Branch 14 meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills, Ohio. All members are welcome to attend. Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI by Barbara A. House Flappy Halloween. Where did the year go? We really had a wonderful summer here in Michigan. I hope you all did also. Now, we get back on our branch schedule. Our next meeting is Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungarian American Reformed Church in Allen Park. Sure hope you plan on attend­ing. We always have prizes and a social after the meeting. Come and meet your friends. Welcome new members Beata Császár, Nicholas Luna, Jeremy Whoolery and Judy and Jim Béri. Thank you, Endre Csornán, for another successful Hungarian Heritage Experience in August. As usual, a wonderful time was had by all who attended. We even got new members.
