Clowns Glitter Dot and Dapper entertain the guests at the Christmas party hosted by Branch 89. Branch 26 Sharon, PA by Gerry Davenport On Dec. 10, Branch 26 held its annual family Christmas party at Neatfeat Roller Skating Rink in Grove City, Pa. It was surprising to see so many adults put on roller skates and "dance to the music" right along with the kids. A pizza party—complete with Christmas cookies, delicious brownies and other homemade dessertswas enjoyed by all. The evening was complete when Jolly Ole St. Nick (R.J. Robison) made his appearance and was the highlight of the evening. The children, as well as a few adults, sat on Santa Claus' lap and told him what they wished to receive on Christmas. After pictures were taken on Santa's lap, the children then received Christmas gifts donated by the Home Office and a special gift compliments of Branch 26. We would like to extend wishes for a healthy, happy new year to all. Branch 88 Rural Valley, PA by Joe Chobody At the December meeting of Branch 88 final preparations were made for the branch Christmas party. Nomination and election of officers were also held. Officers for 2006 are: Dennis Chobody, president; Sam Mikita, vice president; Sherri Wilson, secretary-treasurer; and Tom Baculik, Jack Baculik and Joe Chobody, auditors. The branch Christmas party was held Dec. 11. A nice crowd was on hand and all had a good time. Thanks to the Home Office for the items included in the treat bags and for the generous financial help. Also, thanks to Dennis and Kathy Chobody and Ron Daymut for all their help. The branch will hold its annual party on Sunday, Feb. 12, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the club social hall. As always, there will be plenty of good food and fratemalism. Come and have a good time. We hope that all had an enjoyable holiday season and we wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year. Branch 89 Homestead, PA by Ruth D. Toth What better way to start celebrating the Christmas season than with a good WPA family Christmas party. The day was great, and it was heartwarming to see the good turnout of adults and children. Branch President Elmer W. Toth welcomed all in attendance and assured them they would have an enjoyable time. The entertainment was provided by those magical clowns, Glitter Dot and Dapper. They had the children participate in various parts of the act. A buffet luncheon was served. Everyone commented how delicious the food was. After lunch, the children were anxious to see Santa Claus and started to sing "Jingle Bells." With that, Santa walked into the hall and received an overwhelming reception. The children met with Santa and gave him their lists of Christmas wishes. Santa's helpers gave each child a bag of goodies. Following Santa's visit, Mr. Toth spoke to the group and wished all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We thank the National Officers and Board of Directors for their generous donation which enables us to host the Christmas party each year. Our best wishes to them for a happy and prosperous new year. We also extend best wishes to all of the Home Office employees and members of the WPA. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Árpád Sibrik At our last branch meeting, we elected the following as branch officers for 2006: Marge Boso, president; Art Bartfay, vice president; Margaret Leonardo, secretary; Priscilla Sibrik, treasurer; and Debbie Lewis and Diana Walker, auditors. We held our Christmas party on Dec. 10 at the Elks Club in Grove City, Ohio. There was a good turnout. The usual good Hungarian food was served. The fine program included music provided by the Gegenheimer girls and their violins. Santa visited with the children, bringing them red Santa hats and gifts of money. Door prizes (courtesy of Marge Boso) were awarded. Endre Csornán, membership activities manager, was among the guests who enjoyed themselves at our party. The next branch meeting will be held March 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church social hall, 365 Woodrow Ave., Columbus, Ohio. We hope to see you there.
