Linda Albert has heart problems but is improving. As for me, I am having problems with my heart beat. We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Helen Blair, who passed away recently. May she rest in peace. The Hungarian Reformed Church will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Aug. 5 with a banquet at the Oakhurst Country Club in Columbus. We hope it will be well attended. The cultural club meeting May 2 featured a nice surprise: a concert by four members of the Segedi Opera. The soprano and baritone sans arias accompanied by the pianist, and the fourth member recited poetry. It was a great evening. The church provided a gulyás supper, and pastries were served. The opera members were in Toledo as part of the Toledo/Seged Sister Cities program. The cultural club and the Hungarian Reformed Church will host a pot luck picnic at A Hide-A-Way Hills Club on Aug. 20. The Rev. Zsolt Otvos wil preach at the Chapel in the Pines for the HAH club and our guests. Each family is asked to bring one side dish to share (one dish for each four people). We need to know how many people will attend and what they will be bringing with them. Call Branch President Ann Horvath at (574) 232- 9451 Monday through Friday between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Deadline for reservations is July 25. Branch 296 Springdale, PA by Diane M. Torma Our branch participated in a Join Hands Day project in conjunction with members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. WPA Fraternal Director Endre Csornán coordinated the two groups for the second consecutive year to clean the grounds of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Springdale. We also cleaned the interior of the church—the vestibule, pews, altar, stained glass windows, etc. With its declining membership and resources, the church was in need of some attention. The rainy weather did not deter the crew from its important work. When all was done, the church looked very welcoming for its congregation on Sunday. The group of fraternalists concluded its day by joining in fellowship by breaking bread over a delicious meal. Many thanks to the Rev. Joseph Posta for the wonderful food he provided and to Irene Charles for your always-delicious apricot cookies. What a treat! The participants included: Ron Balia, Patty Balia, George Charles, Irene Charles, Endre Csornán, Joseph Fabri, Ronda Grotefend, Krasimir Kaereher, Endre Kovács, David Moore, Rev. Joseph Posta, Justin Thomas, Diane Torma and John Torma. President Balia extends his personal thanks to everyone who participated in this project. It was a great day of fratemalism at its best. Branch President Balia continues to promote the SARA (Sharing America's Resources Abroad) Program within our branch and within the WPA. We are gathering muchneeded supplies, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, band-aids, washcloths, combs, soap, etc. to be donated and shipped to children abroad for this worthwhile cause. A special birthday wish goes out to branch auditor and long-time member Margaret Kosheba. May you have many more happy, healthy years. Thank you for your continual participation and dedication. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Springdale. Please join us as we make arrangements for our bacon roast. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL by Joan Mauerman Our branch held a picnic and meeting April 11 at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda, Fla.
