Branch News by Dawn D. Ward Branch 14 held its first meeting of the year March 2. Thanks to all who braved the blizzard conditions that evening. We in northern Ohio have become accustomed to this winter weather, but spring will sure be a welcome arrival! Branch 14 will sponsor an outing to the Carousel Dinner Theatre to see the musical production, A Chorus Line, either June 12 or June 26. Branch President Caroline Lanzara will check on ticket availability and report the date at the April meeting. Check next month's issue of the William Penn Life and call President Lanzara at 216-581-8979 for more information and reservations. Thanks to Violet Sarosi who reserved a bus for our branch members interested in attending the 5th Annual WPA Picnic Sept. 10 at Penn Scenic View, Rockwood, Pa. For reservations please call Mrs. Sarosi at 440-248-9012. Branch 14 continues to grow in membership thanks to the wonderful William Penn life insurance and annuity products. The many members who are referring prospects to sales representative Jeff Ward are benefiting as well because they receive a "recommender" fee. Welcome to the following new members: Dennis Bregitzer, Joel Krasznai, Karen Malaski, Evan Novak, Jeffery Sigmund, Ryan Sigmund, Megan Souza, Katherine Bruno, Maureen Murphy, and Danielle Romankowski. Please contact Jeff Ward at 440- 838-1200 with any prospective new members and "cash in" on the William Penn's Recommender Program. The next Branch 14 meeting will be held Wednesday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills, Ohio. Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI by Barbara A. House Flope everyone had a happy and blessed Easter. We spent ours in Florida this year because it was so early. Speaking of Florida, we will be returning home by April 12. We will be working on making this year's bowling tournament the best ever. Sure hope you are going to attend. Remember: you need not bowl. We have the scholarship foundation meeting and the reception on Friday. The big banquet is on Saturday. Entry and reservation forms appear elsewhere in this issue. You can also call me if you have any questions. Happy (belated) 119th birthday greetings to the WPA. Just think of all the members we have been able to meet and help with their many needs. Rudy and Irene Korpák visited us and their granddaughter Deborah Wolfe for two weeks in February. The weather was great and they visited many wonderful sights. They are already booked for next year. Welcome new members Courtney Fortin, Morgan Timm and Bradley and Nicole Ciaglia. Many thanks to Mary and Grace Balaythy. Thanks, Grace, for the csiga. Super as usual. Please remember our deceased members and their families in your prayers, especially Kenneth Baldwin, Louise Parthum, Elizabeth Summers, Arthur Stiber Jr. and Irene Nyilos. Remember also some people who were special friends and people I really got to know well: Kalman Heller, who talked me into my first bowling tournament; László Egei, who I bowled with for many years and who taught me how to party Hungarian style; and Andy Szabó, husband of Ilona Szabó, both great supporters of the Hungarian American Cultural Center. They will all be missed. Rest in peace, friends and members. Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church is busily preparing for its 100th jubilee. The annual festival will be held June 4 and 5 at the Yack Arena. Please support Holy Cross in all its events. We all know it takes a lot of support to make things great. Attend, send money or just offer prayers for Holy Cross so it will survive for generations to come. Happy April birthday to Mike 14 William Penn Life, April 2005 Members of Branch 18 attended the Hungarian Arts Club’s annual Feher Rosza Bál (White Rose Ball) Feb. 5.
