■Branch News Branch 14 Cleveland, OH by Dawn D. Ward Many Branch 14 members enjoyed a lovely day at the 5th annual WPA picnic Sept.10. Thanks to Violet Sarosi for coordinating the bus trip from Cleveland. This great fraternal-fest is a wonderful way to wind up the summer. Branch 14 will sponsor a "Night at the Races" Friday, Oct. 14, at Northfield Park. A delicious buffet dinner is served around 6:00 p.m., followed by an evening of betting on the trotters. For more information and reservations call Branch President Caroline Lanzara at 216-581-8979. The Ward Agency is pleased to announce the appointment of new sales representative Jeff Klecan. Jeff has over 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, specializing in the personal market. He is anxious to introduce his sizable client base to the many benefits and advantages the WPA offers. The annual Branch 14 open-house Christmas party will be held Sunday afternoon, Dec. 11, at the Bethlen Hall of the First Hungarian Reformed Church in Walton Hills, Ohio. All Branch 14 juvenile members will receive invitations, and adult members are welcome to attend. There will be a nominal fee for non-members. The next branch meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills. Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI by Barbara A. House Can you imagine what all those Katrina and Rita survivors are going through? Please remember them in your prayers. Happy 45th anniversary to Julius and Julia Bubenko. Sympathy goes to Grace Balaythy on the death of her daughter and to Eleanor Nagy on the death of her husband George. It was great to meet Eleanor and her daughter. I hope to see them again at a better time in their lives. I also spoke to Augie Acosta who told me his son passed away. He was paralyzed from the neck down for 25 years. He died of a heart attack at 51 years of age. Please show some fraternalism and let these members know you are thinking of them. Thank you Cecylia Matecki for your kindness. The White Rose Ball will be held Feb. 11,2006. The Hungarian Arts Club is looking for girls of Hungarian descent between the ages of 15 and 19 that may be interested in becoming debutantes.
