May all our dear, wonderful and loving fathers have a great day on Branch News Members of Branch 296 crossed generations to help clean up the property surrounding the Hungarian Reformed Church in Springdale, Pa., on Join Hands Day. Father's Day. Branch 296 Springdale, PA by Diane M. Torma Our branch participated in a Join Hands Day project May 7 in conjunction with members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. WPA Membership Activities Manager Endre Csornán coordinated the two groups to clean the overgrown grounds of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Springdale. With its declining membership and resources, the church's grounds were in dire need of "tic." Thanks to some help from above, the expected rain showers held off all day, and the crew was able to cut down trees and shrubs, trim hedges, rake, weed, sweep and clean the kitchen damaged from indoor flooding. There were many sore muscles at the end of the day, but they paled in comparison to the warm hearts and sense of fraternalism at the accomplishment achieved. The participants included: George Charles, Irene Charles, Endre Csornán, Joseph Fabri, Ronda Grotefend, Donald Lambert, Cole McDanel, the Rev. Joseph Posta, Wilbur Roby, Diane Torma and John Torma. It was a great day by all accounts, and I was proud to be a part of it. A special birthday wish goes out to branch auditor and long-time member Margaret Kosheba. May you have many more happy, healthy years. Thank you for your continual participation and dedication. Welcome new members: Colette Zavadak, Michele McKallip and her son Patrick McKallip. Thanks to Branch President and National Director Ron Balia for recommending them. Also, welcome Gavin Andra, Mia Casagrande, Ronald P. Casagrande, Jr., Tracie Grech, Marian Irwin, Antoinette Kosheba, Tabitha Wilk and Zachary Zimmerly. We thank you all for choosing William Penn Association and invite you to join us at the monthly branch meetings. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Springdale. Hope to see you there. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL by Joan Mauerman Branch 590 held its May meeting at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda, Fla. We had to cut our meeting short because a bad storm came up. The same thing happened at our March meeting. Mother Nature must be mad at us. I want to thank my daughter, Maureen Dues, for taking my place at the May meeting. Thanks a bunch. The winners of our scholarship raffle was Diane Torma, Antal Schmidt and Jay Reichert. Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets. Get well wishes to Stanley Susharski, Vi Shinski and Carolyn Sudár.
