see elsewhere. We had a wonderful time. Thank you, WPA. On Dec. 7, Branch 51 held its election of officers at the American Hungarian Club in Garfield, N.J. Our officers for 2004 are: Arthur Barillo, president; Frank Zimmermann, vice president; Richard Mozer, treasurer; Martha Barillo, secretary; and Hedy and Joseph Baumgartner, auditors. Congratulations to you all and have a good year. After the election, we held our annual Christmas party. We were all entertained by Dolly the Clown. Additional entertainment was provided by the one-year-old Baldyga triplets. They are the granddaughters of Maria Mozer and the late Ernie Mozer. They were enjoyed by young and old. After the clown show, we sang Christmas carols. Then Santa came, giving the children presents with the help of Arthur Barillo. Refreshments were served. We all had a wonderful time seeing each other at this family tradition. We enjoy seeing our children and grandchildren change and grow, and we enjoy talking about our 50 years of togetherness and fraternalism. All this would not be possible without the generosity of the WPA. We know it is only one of your good deeds. Our many thanks to you. May God bless you all and help you keep up your generous and wonderful work. We would also like to thank the Home Office and Branch 51 for their contributions to our Holiday Baskets and for keeping us together. May our motto be: A people who pray together, stay together. God bless you all and God bless America. We thank all our members who helped with our Christmas party. Without your help, there would be no party. Keep up the good work. Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA ^ by Jack Tokár Hello, hello, you beautiful people of the WPA everywhere. We wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous Branch News new year. The Christmas party for Branch 76 was held on Dec. 13 at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club. It was a very joyful occasion. The children had lots of fun with the toys they received from the WPA Santa. We would like to send a special "hello" to all the members of the Philadelphia branch, especially to the Harta family, the Fogarasi family, Shirley Demaria, Aranka Mezei and Armand and Laura DeVoe. We want to issue a special note of thanks to Margaret Garcia for bringing Karen Davis and her family into WPA membership. We also want to thank Richard Gyuraki for keeping his two grandchildren in the WPA family. Gyöngyi Rozman, our thoughts and prayers are with you in the difficulties that you are facing with your husband's illness. Rosalie Gogos and Margaret Tatalaski, I called you, but received no answer. I hope you are both doing well. I recall with pleasure meeting both old friends and new ones at the 35th General Convention. I am glad that we are in the business of helping one another, especially Hungarians and their friends. I want to congratulate the newly elected officers. May you have lots of success with the tasks at hand. The new chairman, Steve Varga, turned out to be a relative that I never knew I had. I had a few laughs with Joan Mauerman, Michael Tomcsak and my friend Sándor Yuhas. It was delightful seeing A1 and Betty Vargo again. As usual, our monthly meeting will be held on the fourth Friday of the month at 8:30 p.m. at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club, 1125 Southampton Road, Philadelphia (phone 215-969- 9446). All members and prospective members are welcome. Happy birthday and/or anniversary to all those who have celebrated recently or who will celebrate in the coming month. A birthday is a wonderful time to take stock of your life and plan for the future. Remember: we are all getting older every day. The important thing is to make the most of each day and each opportunity that we are given. Don't hesitate to call Jack Tokár for information about life insurance and annuities. They are wonderful gifts to give yourself and your family, offering the satisfying warmth of a secure future. Call 215-357-4516. Branch 88 Rural Valley, PA At the December 2004 meeting of Branch 88, final preparations were made for the branch Christmas party. Nomination and election of officers were held. New officers for 2004 are: Dennis Chobody, president; Sam Mikita, vice president; Sherri Wilson, secretary-treasurer; and Tom Baculik, Jack Baculik and Joe Chobody, auditors. Branch 88 would like to thank Geno Cicchiani who retired this year as branch secretary-treasurer. Geno was a branch officer for many years and was always there to lend a hand when needed. Thanks again, Geno. The branch Christmas party was held on Dec. 14. A snowstorm limited the attendance, but those attending had a great time. Thanks to the Home Office for the items for the treat bags and the generous financial help. Also, thanks to Dennis and Kathy Chobody, Sam Mikita and Ron Daymut for all their help. The branch will hold its annual party on Sunday, Feb. 8, starting at 3:00 p.m. As always, there will be plenty of good food and fratemalism. Come and have a good time. We hope that all had a merry Christmas and wish all a happy and prosperous new year. Branch 89 Homestead, PA by Ruth D. Toth Although we had a snowstorm the day before our Christmas party, the next day the attendance for the party was great. We had a large turnout. Branch President Elmer Toth welcomed the members and their families. He reminded all that the Williu Pen Life, February 2004 15
