News On the same note, Terra Clise, our oldest granddaughter, will be getting married to Mike Smith on July 26 at Hide-A-Way Hills, Chapel of the Pines, with a reception at the Lodge Great Room. Happy 80th birthday to Erma Pache. May she have many more in good health. Branch 189 _______Alliance, OH 1 by Mark Moore Branch 189 will hold a life insurance membership drive on Saturday, March 15. Come and meet your new branch officers: Mark Moore, presi­dent; Mike Myers, vice president; Shawn Johnson, secretary; Frank Bycraft, treasurer; and Laurie Bycraft and Mike Delane, auditors. All insurance members are invited to come and update their policies. Social members are also invited to inquire about WPA life insurance. Everyone is invited to enjoy good food and music. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A DJ will provide music after dinner. Insurance representatives will be on hand to answer all your questions. Our regular branch meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the club. We invite everyone to our steak fry held the third Friday of each month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. We also have a DJ entertaining every Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Anyone intested in our bowling machine league can stop at the club for more information. Our Christmas party was a big success with more than 50 children and their parents coming to see Santa. They were also entertained by the Rosemary Popovich Dancers. As you may have noticed in the last few issues of the William Penn Life, I have been submitting the news from our branch. Alex Goydan, coordinator and secretary of our branch, had been sending these in monthly and asked me if I would take care of this in the future. I told him "certainly," and here I am. The annual McKeesport Március Ünnepe (March 15th Commemora­tion) will be held on Sunday, March 16, at 3:00 p.m. at the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club, 3004 Walnut St., McKeesport. All are welcome to come and socialize with old friends and to make new friends. Readers-don't forget that the McKeesport area has a wonderful Hungarian radio program, hosted by WPA member Dr. Victor Molnár. Tune in to WEDO-AM 810 every Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Dr. Molnár presents a delightful program of beautiful Hungarian music. Reminder to all—if any of our members have news to share, please let me know. Call me at 412-673- 0117. Our heartfelt condolences are sent to the Heyz family on the loss of Dick Heyz, who passed away Jan. 24. He always helped at the WPA Annual Picnic at Scenic View, working at either the admissions gate or in the kitchen, doing what needed to be done. He will be missed. Reports were presented by the branch secretary and treasurer. The meeting included the election of officers for the year 2003. Reelected were: George S. Charles Jr., presi­dent; Jim Deak, vice president; Barbara Kapinus, secretary; Bob Kapinus, treasurer; and Dianne Charles, Linda Deak and Bill Werling, auditors. We also made plans for upcoming events. Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Third Avenue Calvin Reformed Church, 1012 Third Ave., Beaver Falls, Pa. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL B by Joan Mauerman Congratulations to our newest member, Caroline Ann Hughes, bom Jan. 31 in Cincinnati. She is my eighth great-grandchild and she is absolutely beautiful. She joins her brother Aidán and parents Kimberly and Colin Hughes. Special thanks to Kalman and Julia Nagy, Steve and Anikó Vajda and James and Kathleen Nagy for their faith in the WPA. Kathleen likes dressing dolls in Hungarian outfits for her family and friends. Birthday wishes to Julia McGrath, Donny Mauerman, Greg Damon, Michelle Meehan, David Ryan Mauerman, Aidán Hughes and Matt Damon. Wedding anniversary congratula­tions to Tiffany and Rick Dues. Our sincere condolences to the Lesko family on the death of John Lesko on Feb. 2. We will miss this generous and gentle giant. But, I will treasure the time I spent with him and Sara at their summer home in Sweden. He will live in our memo­ries forever. May he rest in peace. Get well wishes to Elizabeth Posey, Gabor Kiss and Darlene Strays. It was nice seeing Betty and A1 Vargo, who were vacationing in Orlando. We all went to dinner at Bergamo's in Mercada Square, Orlando. The next day they joined us for dinner at the Plant City Hungar­ian Club. Markus Ica, Szabos Estié and Donar Lajas provided the evening's entertainment. Betty and A1 met friends they knew years ago in the Cleveland area. A1 had a nice visit with the Rev. Zoltán Király who was seated at our table with his lovely wife Suzanne. Rev. Király is recovering from a broken wrist. He fell on ice in New Jersey.
