i Branch News Branch 13 Trenton, NJ_____ by Elsie H. Radvany We hope you are reading the William Penn Life and keeping up with all the activities that have transpired. Branch 13 would like to thank everyone who attended the election of delegates and alternate delegates to the 35th General Convention of the William Penn Association. The convention was held Sept. 1 to 3 in Pittsburgh. Congratulations to all the National Officers, Chairman of the Board, Directors and Auditing Committee members that were elected. It was nice to see so many of our friends as delegates whom we haven't seen for a long time. I would be remiss if I didn't extend sincere congratulations to Endre Csornán, membership activities manager, the staff and all members of his committee for a most successful fraternal picnic held at Penn Scenic View. It took many hours of planning, work and cooperation from his committee members to accommodate the nearly 1,000 people who attended the picnic. The good Lord looked upon us with favor since the weather conditions were threatening, but everyone enjoyed a wonderful day. The light rains came at the end of the day. Thanksgiving is around the comer and Branch 13 will again prepare and donate a Holiday Basket to the City of Trenton Rescue Mission, which will be shared by so many who are less fortunate. Branch 13 will hold its annual meeting and family Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 7, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church auditorium, Grand and Beatty streets, Trenton. We cordially invite you to attend this event. Be advised that Branch 13 will no longer meet at the American Hungarian Democratic Club on South Clinton Avenue. All future branch meetings will be held at the Hungarian Reformed Church auditorium. For your life insurance and annuity needs, please contact Elsie H. Radvany, 2006 Yardley Road, Morrisville, PA 19067, telephone 215- 295-2222. Branch 14 Cleveland, OH by Dawn D. Ward Branch 14 members are looking forward to "An Evening at the Races" Friday, Oct. 17, at Northfield Park and an outing to the Carousel Dinner Theater to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" Sunday, Dec. 21. General Convention Delegates Lou Horvath, Caroline Lanzara, Joan Parete, Emma Oris and Erin Ward ably represented Branch 14 the first week of September in Pittsburgh. Along with setting company policy, there was plenty of fellowship and fun. Delegate Joan Parete and her husband Dante welcomed the Cleveland delegation to their room for an "Italian reception" including fine wine, cheeses and other delicacies. Here's to "La Dolce Vita", Dante! The annual Branch 14 Christmas party will be held Sunday, Nov. 30, at the First Hungarian Reformed Church in Walton Hills. Juvenile members of Branch 14 will receive invitations, but all Branch 14 members are welcome to attend. We all have so much to be thankful for. Remember those less fortunate in your prayers. A special thank you to St. Anthony. Wasn't the picnic wonderful? I had a marvelous time. Thank you very much for all the wonderful donations for the Chinese auction. That Scholarship fundraiser is very dear to my heart. I am so pleased Dianne Charles asked me to chair it along with her. I will take basket donations at any time. Just call me and I will pick them up. Your donations paid for 16 scholarship grants. Thank you. Mark your calendars for Sept. 11, 2004. That is the date for next year's WPA picnic. We will again have a bus to get you there. All articles and photographs for the December issue of the William Penn Life are due in our office by November 10,2003. Williu Pen Life, November 2003 15
