Branch 226 McKeesport, PA by Goldie J. Szarka Boldog Apák Napját Kívánunk. Happy Father's Day. In June we will be celebrating many graduations, weddings and Father's Day. A time to rejoice. We're all looking forward to an enjoyable and fun summer. Best wishes to all of you who will be celebrating June birthdays and anniversaries. Please remember to fly the American flag on V-Day June 6 and Flag Day June 14. My husband, who was born in Hungary, is a strong advocate for flying the American flag with great pride. In fact, at the present time, we have a big American flag waving in our front yard in honor of our troops. Branch 226 participated in the delegate district election meeting held May 4 and chaired by Violet Lenart. We elected two delegates and two alternate delegates to represent us at the General Convention to be held in Pittsburgh Sept. 1 to 3. The official list of delegates will appear in the August issue of the William Penn Life. There was a very nice turnout at the last meeting, and it was a pleasure to see old friends. We reminisced about old times with Ed and Annamae Rietski. Branch 226 member Nagypapa Steve Balogh must certainly be proud of his grandson, Michael Ferraro, a gifted science student who was featured in our local newspaper, The Daily News. Congratulations. Also, it recently came to my attention that Dean Holtzman, son of Tim and Nadine Holtzman, and grandson of Malvene Heyz, has been selected to the National Honor Society and "Who's Who in America." Keep up the good work. The other day, I had a telephone call from Zoltán and Carolyn Fejes. Carolyn told me how much Zoliié enjoys reading the William Penn Life. Zoliié suffered a stroke several years ago and has not been up to par since, but our prayers and good wishes go out to them for better health and good days ahead. Branch 226 send warm wishes to all our shut-ins and out of town members. If you have news to share, kindly call me at 412-673-0117. For your life insurance and annuity needs, call Alex Goydan at 412-751-8259. A Jó Isten Legyen Veletek. May God be with you. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL by Joan Mauerman Branch 590 members attended a delegate district election meeting May 1 to elect delegates to the upcoming General Convention. Please check the August issue of the William Penn Life for the official results of this election. After the election, a regular business meeting was held. It included a special memorial service in honor of Fielen Toth, mother-in-law of WPA Auditor Joseph Hamari of New Jersey. Helen was a very sweet and giving lady. She will be missed. May she rest in peace. Plans were discussed for our branch picnic to be held Oct. 9 at the Jaycee picnic grounds in Cape Coral. The scholarship raffle winners were Charlie Johns, Mike Kara and Helen Toth. Margaret Menner was the winner of the Mother's Day gift. Eleanor Di Guilio and Irene Franko were the winners of the half-and-half drawing. Door prize winners were Helen Rosen, Sara Lesko and Julia Nagy. Thanks to our bakers: Irene Franko, Sara Lesko and Eleanor Di Guilio. We enjoyed eating pizza and hot dogs. Bingo was played and the cover-all was won by Bob Menner. Happy birthday to two special young ladies, Maren Tomcsak and Sarina Mauerman. Get well wishes to Ethel Fodor and Eleanor Di Guilio. Hope you both are 18 William Penn Life, June 2003
