Branch News garian picnic you'll ever attend. Sure hope you join us. Join Hands Day is June 21. We again will be planting flowers, sowing grass seeds, painting fences and doing general maintenance work at the family center at Michigan Avenue and Wayne Road. Things get rolling at 9:00 a.m. The family center needs many items, such as laundry detergent, size 4 and 5 diapers, towels and wash cloths. We will accept any donations and deliver them on June 21. Better yet, come help us and give your donations yourself. This is a worthwhile cause. The center provides services for abused families and others who are down on their luck. Hope to see you there. A super lunch will be served. Thank you to all who sent cards and gifts and made phone calls during Tommy's recent illness. The WPA family is truly a special family. We congratulate all the lucky winners. The social events were most enjoyable, as usual. Congratulations to all the 2003 graduates. The doors of opportunity are opening to a whole new world. Special good wishes go to John Tollas Jr. who will continue his pursuits in academics and football at Robert Morris University. At the start of each monthly branch meeting, we hold an "incentive drawing." If the member whose name is drawn is in attendance at that meeting, he or she will win a cash prize. At our April meeting, Joanna Zimmer's name was drawn, but since she was not in attendance, the prize money was added to May's prize. The name drawn at our May meeting was that of member Daniel McBride, but he was not at the meeting, so the prize money was added to the June drawing. The incentive to attend our meetings keeps growing! With the General Convention fast approaching, our branch participated in the delegate district election meeting in May. The official results of the election will appear in the August issue of the William Penn Life. Branch 28 is planning a road trip to Penn Scenic View to attend the Sept. 13 picnic. If you want to join us, please call 330-746-7704 for more details. Birthday wishes to everyone celebrating another wonderful year, especially Branch Vice President Frank Schauer. Best wishes to everyone celebrating an anniversary this month, especially Ed and Vera Gabrick on their 50th and David and Nanette Burnett on their 25th. We hope all mothers enjoyed a beautiful Mother's Day last month, and we hope all fathers will enjoy their special day this month. Blessings and good wishes for all of them.
