Poet Gyongi Peterffy offered a ringing recitation of one other original poems. László Sándor presented a display of mementos of Kossuth's visit to Pittsburgh. A number of musical selections, from solos to quintets, were performed by the members of the Lakatos family orchestra. The Philadelphia Hungarian Club also served as the setting Dec. 15 for a Christmas party sponsored by the Club and WPA Branch 76. Several WPA members attended, including Branch President Jack Tokár, Vice President Stephen Pokomy and Auditor James Pokorny and his wife. The annual meeting to elect branch officers was held in January at the Tokár residence. All officers from 2001 were reelected for 2002. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Árpád Sibrik Our branch Christmas party was a great success. About 250 members and guests were present. Everyone enjoyed the good Hungarian food and pastries. There was plenty of refreshments for all. After the meal, Santa came and handed out candy, coloring books, crayons, slinkies and brand new $5 bills to all the member children. The Gugenheimer girls, Ilona Relle and Rachael Clise (our granddaughter) presented a beautiful concert of Christmas music on the violin and flute. Girls, you did a great job. Keep it up! Branch 132 South Bend, IN by Frank J. Wukovits, jr. The December children's Christmas party was held at Saylor's Pizza. Children, guests and parents got to enjoy their fill from a good selection on the pizza bar. Afterwards, each member child and their juvenile guest were given a well-stuffed goodie bag and a gift certificate. There were also door prizes for the youngsters and the adults who came with them. Many thanks to Branch President Alex J. Horvath, Helen Pécsi, Anna Horvath and Carol Kumm for all their efforts for the Christmas party. Anna Horvath and Helen Pécsi put together and deliverd 16 Holiday Baskets. It's one of the things they like, and they put their hearts into it. Some of the recipients appreciated their visit more than the food. The branch reelected the following officers to serve in 2002: President Horvath; Frank J. Wukovits Jr., secretary-treasurer; and Ms. Horvath and Ms. Pécsi, auditors. Alex and Anna Horvath continue to keep the boat launch site at St. Patrick's County Park clean. It is an ongoing Branch 132 community project. This year the branch picnic will be held at Potawatomi Park, Pavilion 1, on Sunday, Aug. 11.
