Grads qualify for free life insurance For over a quarter of a century, the WPA has supported youth through our Scholarship Foundation, providing grants to those seeking a higher education. But, did you know the WPA offers another valuable free benefit to high school graduates? It’s called the Graduating High School Seniors Benefit, and it’s available exclusively to the children of WPA members. The graduating senior does not have to be a WPA member. With this benefit the graduate receives free life insurance coverage for six months. The amount of coverage per graduate will be $5,000 if one parent is a WPA member, or $ 10,000 if both parents are WPA members. To receive this free life insurance coverage, the parents must send to our Home Office a written notice that their child has graduated from high school. The notice must include the date of graduation. The free coverage begins the day we receive such notice and ends six months from the date of graduation. The student must have received a diploma, but does not need to submit it with the notice. The coverage may be continued after the six-month period by submitting an application and paying the required premiums. For more information about this valuable fraternal benefit, contact your local WPA representative, or call our Home Office toll-free at I -800-848-7366. WPA joins America’s fraternal benefit societies in saluting FIC’s this month The National Fraternal Congress of America has declared May "Fraternal Insurance Counsellor Month." It is the fraternal benefit system's way of honoring those who, in many respects, are the lifeblood of fraternal societies like our own. In declaring FIC Month, the NFCA recognized the dedication of FIC's to adopting and maintaining high standards of ethical conduct. It also hailed them for their efforts to continuously increase their knowledge of fraternal life insurance and for sharing their knowledge and experience with other sales representatives. The NFCA also expressed its gratitude to FIC's for their work in developing more successful sales methods and for continuing to render adequate service to the members of their fraternal societies. Earning the FIC designation is not easy. It requires many hours of study and passing several difficult exams. We at the WPA are proud to recognize our officers, employees and representatives who have earned this professional designation. We thank our FIC's, listed below, for serving our members according to the highest of ethical standards and for remaining loyal to our society and to Fratemalism. George S.
