YOU STILL HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE to enter the Swing into action and sign up for our annual golf tournament WPA's 16th Annual Golf Tournament. But, you better hurry: the deadline for all golf, dinner and hotel reservations is June 11. To enter the tournament and reserve seats at the golf awards dinner, complete the form found inside the back cover of this issue and send it to Richard W. Toth at the Home Office. Be sure to include your check covering tournament fees and dinner reservations. To make your hotel reservations, call the Best Western/Holiday Inn in Weirton, W.Va. at (304) 723-5522. All golfers and guests are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. The 18-hole tournament will be held Saturday, July 10, at the Blackmoor Golf Club in Richmond, Ohio, near Steubenville. Prizes will be awarded to the men and women with the lowest gross scores and lowest net scores based on the Calloway system. Prizes also will be awarded to the winners of various skill shot contests to be held during tournament play. The big prize will be $15,000 cash which will be awarded to eligible WPA life benefit members who score a hole-in-one on a specially designated par-3 hole. Eligible members can also win $5,000 if they score an ace on any of the course's other par-3 holes during the tournament. The weekend will begin with the annual Friday night reception for all golfers and guests at the hotel, featuring the popular putting contest. The previously mentioned dinner on Saturday night will also be held at the hotel. Saturday night's activities will include the annual auction raffle for a new set of golf clubs. Golfers arriving early can play the Blackmoor course Friday, July 9. The WPA has reserved tee times that day between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Call the course at (740) 765-5502 to schedule your practice round. We hope to see you at the first tee July 10! Learn Hungarian this summer ‘No questions asked’ life insurance To help celebrate our Convention year, the WPA is offering a Guaranteed Issue life insurance program to its members. If you are already a life benefit member of the WPA, you may be eligible to purchase up to $5,000 in additional life insurance from us with no health questions asked. This program is open to life benefit members ages 0 to 80 in good standing as of Jan. I, 1998. Eligible members can choose from any permanent life or Single Premium Whole Life plan. HAVE YOU EVER LOOKED at our Hungarian language section, "Magyar Nyelv," and said to yourself: "Gosh, I wish I could read that"? If so, the WPA is offering you a chance to start fulfilling your wish. We will again be sponsoring a Hungarian Language Camp this summer at Penn Scenic View. By the end of the week-long camp, you will not be able to understand all the Hungarians words and phrases found in "Magyar Nyelv," but you will learn enough of the basics to carry on simple conversations. The camp will be held Aug. 1 to 7. Cost is only $225. The package includes 25 hours of instruction from experienced teachers, lodging, three CONGRATULATIONS to WPA National President George S. (Pete) Charles Jr. who this month celebrates 25 years as an employee of the Association. Pete began his career with us on June 4,1974, as a partmeals a day and all instruction materials.
