Congratulations to new grandparents A1 and Betty Vargo. Their daughter Sharon recently gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. Get well wishes to John Rosner, who is recovering from heart surgery. Elizabeth Damon suffered a concussion and abrasions in a sledding accident in Athens, Ohio. She gave her family quite a scare. Birthday wishes to Carrie Damon, Helen Toth, John Lesko, Julia Nagy, Irene Redden, Joan Mauerman and Mike Tomcsak. A special hello goes out to Alice Wilds in Canfield, Ohio. A William Penn “gala” will be held Feb. 20 at the Hungarian Christian Home, located on Jackson Road in Venice, Fla. Mike Tomcsak will represent the WPA officers and directors. It is a time to remember those who mean the most to us. Sending flowers, candy or cards will be most pleasing to our loved ones. Happy Valentine’s Day to all members of our society. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. During these six weeks before Easter, let us reflect on what we can do to increase our spiritual life. Also, let us remember to do good things. Brother member Joseph Masic encourages us to pray the rosary. The WPA will celebrate its 113th anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 21. The officers and members of Branch 800 send their best wishes and congratulations to the National Officers, Board of Directors and Home Office staff. At the branch’s January meeting, Branch Coordinator Robert Jones called on the three auditors to come forward and examine the branch’s financial records. After reviewing the records, they found all to be correct. We thank the auditors for giving the branch a thorough audit. Other branch documents were also prepared and sent to the Home Office. Myron Yeager won the branch’s 50/50 drawing at the January meeting. As with all meetings, a light lunch was served following the business portion. In your prayers kindly remember all those members who are ill in hospitals, nursing homes or their own homes. Life insurance should always be a concern to all families. Try to encourage your family members who are in need of insurance to give Robert Jones a call at (814) 942- 2661. He will give them the details on the right WPA insurance policies for their needs. Originally from St. Marys, she most recently resided in Waterford, Pa. She was the sister of Branch President Mary Lou Schutz. Lillian was very special and we loved her. Our members wish to express their sorrow at her passing and will remember her in our prayers.
