Barton, OH Branch 40 Martins Ferry, OH Branch 349 Weirton, WV Branch 8164 Steubenville, OH Branch 8285 Mingo Junction, OH By Louis A. Fodor National Director Our five branches jointly hosted a Christmas party on Dec. 15. The weatherman had predicted rain or snow, but, as it turned out, we had a beautiful sunny day. The invitations were mailed two weeks ahead, so everyone had ample time to plan for the big day. Santa and Mrs. Claus were to arrive at 1:00 p.m., and—boy— were they on time. Right to the minute. Bells were ringing as they arrived and greeted the crowd of 105 people, which included 20 children. The first order of business was to greet the children. Some were brave enough to sit on Santa’s lap, others were timid. Santa and Mrs. Claus took care of the latter by going to their tables and presenting them with their gifts and candy. After Santa and his helper left, we all lined up for a full course Christmas dinner, with fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, rolled cabbages, mixed vegetables, bread, rolls and butter. We topped it off with a large cake in honor of member Joe Tocash’s birthday. The Dorothy ensemble from Monroeville, Pa., started to play favorite Hungarian songs for the csárdás and Hungarian table songs, the hallgató. Later on, local fiddlers Dan László, Lou Fodor and Francis Duska joined the band for a few numbers. The dance began at 3:00 p.m. and lasted until 6:00 p.m. New sales rep to serve members in Akron area AKRON, OH — The William Penn is pleased to welcome the newest member of its sales force, Harry F.
