A presentation entitled, "Stop Wasting Your Money, ’ ’ was given by President Tomcsak during our meeting. He offered tips on how to better manage your money. Progressive bingo was played and door prizes awards. Get well wishes go out to Joe Mekler and Tony Noel. Kalman Nagy of Port Charlotte was the master of ceremonies for the Mother’s Day dinner of the Hungarian Christian Society held in Venice, Fla. The program featured singing, poetry readings and a strolling violinist. Dancing followed the dinner. Betty Menner was the winner of a doll dressed in Hungarian costume. Dinners are served every other week at the Society’s hall, and worship services are held weekly alternating between Catholic Mass ahd Protestant services. Branch 800 Altoona, PA By Vincent Frank Branch 800 President During our branch’s May meeting we honored 20 members who have reached 50 years of membership in our Association. The honorees in attendance enjoyed this event which has become an annual May affair at our branch. Some of the honorees were unable to attend due to distance or illness. They were mailed their 50-year pins along with a congratulatory letter from Acting National President Frances A. Furedy. Branch President Vincent Frank passed on some general notes of interest concerning our Association. Then each honoree was individually introduced and presented their pin by President Frank. All members present gave each honoree a nice round of applause. Pictures were taken and a buffet luncheon was served. It was then time for reminiscing. A 50- 50 drawing was held, won by Paul Masic. The dining tables were adorned with red table cloths and flowers. Everything looked so nice for this special event. Our thanks go to all those members who helped make this a memorable affair. A big thank you also goes to the Home Office for all its help and for providing the branch with all the materials needed to make this the splendid affair it was.
