All tickets are advance sale and may be pur­chased by sending the form found below to the Ward Agency by June 14. All members of Branch 14 are eligible for the greatly reduced admission price of $8 for adults and $5 for juvenile members of the branch. Any guests of Branch 14 members are welcome to at­tend at the group price of $12, which is $8 less than the regular admission price. Branch 14 will also sponsor a Lake Erie cruise to Put-in-Bay and Kelley’s Island July 31 which includes a hot lunch buffet. It departs at 9:30 a.m. from San­dusky. The regular price of $32.50 for adults, $29.95 for senior, citizens and $16.50 for children will be discounted one half for Branch 14 members. Reservations are due by July 24. Branch 14 member Jayson Toth, an 8th grader at Eastlake Middle School in Eastlake, Ohio, has been selected to be a student ambassador of the United States with an organization called People to People. He will travel to Eng­land, Ireland, Scotland and Wales this summer. People to People was founded in 1956. During the last 30 years, more than 65,000 young Ameri­cans have proudly served as am­bassadors to 25 different coun­tries, fostering cultural under­standing and goodwill. Branch 14 scholarship recipi­ent Salim A. Kafiti graduated from Miami University in Ox­ford, Ohio, with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. Sal plans on attending law school. She was honored during a lunch­eon at Cobo Hall. We are very proud of you, Helen. Branch member Irene Korpák recently returned from a wonder­ful tour of Russia. Highlights of the trip included visits to the Kremlin, Lenin’s tomb, the win­ter and summer palaces of the Czars, the circus in Moscow and the ballet. On the return trip, she also visited Helsinki, Finland. Would you believe that at this time we can finally start thinking golf? Yes, spring has finally sprung. The Annual Golf Tourna­ment will be held July 12 and 13 at Columbus, Ohio. If you are interested, please call me for details. We have scheduled a special membership meeting for Friday, June 14, at 7:00 p.m., at the Hungarian American Culture Club on Goddard Road in Taylor. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH By Kathy Novak Branch 28 Reporter Branch 132 members Helen Pécsi and Ann Horvath prepare to deliver food baskets to the needy in the South Bend area at Easter. Another successful bowling tour­­nament has come and gone. Warm congratulations to all the lucky winners, and a big thank you to the Home Office for organ­izing such a wonderful event. It’s always so nice to see our friends at these gatherings. The clock is ticking towards Sunday, July 14. Are your reser­vations in for the annual branch picnic to be held that day from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Youngs­town American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave.? Both events will be held at the Youngs­town American Hungarian Club. Hungarian Day will feature a menu of traditional Hungarian food and music by Steve Pal’s orchestra. Admission will be charged at the door. St. Stephen’s picnic will begin at 11:30 a.m. with an outdoor Mass, and Hungarian meals will be available at 1:00 p.m. Music by Dorothy and Company will begin at 2:30 p.m. and continue until 6:30 p.m. Admission will be charged at the door. Wukovits, Jr. Branch President In the spirit of the Easter Holiday and the spirit of Fraternalism, our branch donated food baskets to three local families during the recent holiday. The recipients thanked us for our generosity. Our branch thanks the William Penn ladies who prepared and delivered the food baskets. At our April meeting, mem­bers voted to have the branch buy tickets for a Silver Hawks baseball game and make them available to branch members below cost. The tickets are reserved box seats for the game on Friday, June 14. Each member may buy two tickets at $4 each, plus each ticket comes with a $ 1 chit to be used at the concession stand. Additional tickets are $6 each. Non-members may also purchase tickets at $6 each. Tickets will be available on a first-come/first-served basis. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL By Joan Mauerman Branch 590 Treasurer Branch President Michael Tom­­csak opened our recent branch meeting with the Pledge of Allegi­ance and a prayer. The scholarship drawing was held and the winners of half of the proceeds were Betty Menner, Elmer Furedy and Pete Charles. Thanks to all who bought tickets. Irene Slauterbeck was the win­ner of a yellow lily plant in honor of Mother’s Day. Birthday greetings and gifts were given to Mary Werrlein of Cape Coral and John Veres of Cooper City.
