Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI By Barbara A. House National Director Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Spring! Even though we in Michigan had a pretty mild winter, it sure seemed like a long one. We at Branch 18 are busy preparing for our 50-year member banquet. We have not had one for a while. Watch your mailbox for more information, or read about it in future issues of this publication. If you are an honoree, 1 hope you plan to attend. It is so nice to see everyone at these affairs. Wishing a happy vacation to Julie and Andy Chesley. Have a wonderful time. You sure deserve it. Happy birthday to some very special friends: Helen Molnár, Emelia Blair and Helen Breznai. May you have many more. What would I do without you? Special get well wishes go to Betty Holguin and Richard Fekete. You are sorely missed by me and your bowling team. Betty, enough is enough. Krisztina Ann Kortvesi and Monica Ilona Cerni were among six young women of Hungarian descent introduced to society Feb. 3 at the 38th annual Fehér Rózsa Bál in Dearborn, Mich. Happy anniversary wishes go to two special couples: Ernie and Helen Molnár, who will celebrate 43 years together; and Andrew and Irene Dichazi, marking their 40th anniversary. The Dichazis will celebrate March 10 in Sterling Heights with their children and grandchildren. After many years of Monday membership meetings, we feel a change is in order. Our monthly meetings will now be held on the first Friday of each month. Branch 129 Columbus, OH By Arpad Sibrik Branch 129 Coordinator The winter of 1995-96 has been a hard one for everyone. All the cold and unpleasant weather has brought with it hazardous driving conditions, much snow to be shoveled and lots of shivering. Thank God spring will soon be here, with the rebirth of the world. We cancelled our February branch meeting because of the bad weather and bad driving conditions. Faithful member Margaret George, who has been experiencing health difficulties, is in a Grove City, Ohio, nursing home. She is the mother of Branch President Margaret Boso. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Our branch is looking forward to the bowling tournament in Pittsburgh. We hope to send a ladies team again this year. We wish them good results. The golf tournament will be in Columbus on July 13 at the Turnberry Golf Course and the Holiday Inn-East on Hamilton Road. Reservations have been made for William Penn golfers on Friday, July 12, who wish to practice on the golf course. We hope to have a good turnout. The next branch meeting will be held on April 10 at the VFW Hall, 1591 Lockbourne Road. All members are welcome. Branch 249 Dayton, OH By Steve LaFlame Branch 249 Reporter Everything is going well here at Branch 249. We had our election of officers at our December meeting, and the following members were elected: Anne Kertesz (wife of the late National Director Albert Kertesz), president; Mike Mayerchak, vice president; Anne Schmidt, secretary-treasurer; and Mark Schmidt and John Horvath, auditors. Congratulations to all! Due to his ill health, Steve Horvath regrets he cannot take an active part in running the branch, but he will assume the role of advisor and president emeritus. The officers will look to him for guidance and support in maintaining the integrity of the Association. We want to thank him for all he has done in the past for Branch 249 and wish him good luck in the future. Please remember him in your prayers, as we do.
