The Lakeland Magyar Church also hold dinners on the first Sunday of each month. Our thanks to the Home Office for its contributions to our Christmas party. It is nice to see the smooth transition our national officers are going through. These young officers, National President George S. Charles Jr. and National Vice President-Secretary Richard W. Toth, came up through the ranks and know their respective duties. Congratulations, Pete and Rick. Keep up the good work and bring us your new ideas to promote the William Penn to its highest level of achievement. For all your insurance needs, please call Mike Tomcsak at (941)858-8071. Branch 800 Altoona, PA By Vincent Frank Branch 800 President Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you and your families from your branch officers. May happiness brighten your holidays and remain with you throughout the new year. And may this holy season grant you peace and love as we close out the year 1996 and prepare for the ushering in of the year 1997. Our branch will hold a Christmas party for members, families and friends on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church social hall. We hope our young members will respond to the invitations mailed to them. Santa Claus will pay us a visit and give out treats to the children. Many door prizes will be awarded to the adults. All members— adults and children—should make their reservations by calling Vincent Frank at 695-0213 by Wednesday, Dec. 4. Everything is ready for this event with loads of good food. The only thing remaining is your telephone call to place your reservation. The William Penn Holiday Basket program is upon us, and Branch 800 will be participating in the annual charitable effort for the poor. Nomination, election and installation of branch officers for 1997 will take place at the December branch meeting. Do your best to come and help us select those who will lead our branch during the coming year. Branch 800’s annual memorial Mass for deceased members was held Thanksgiving morning at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Altoona. We thank the Rev. Msgr. Robert Saly, pastor of the church, for allowing us to celebrate our Mass there. Those attending brought donations of non-perishable food items to be distributed to those in need. Are you or any member of your family in need of life insurance coverage? If so, have you considered the William Penn? Just pick up the phone and call Bob Jones at 942-2661. Season’s greetings to all. Branch 8121 St. Marys, PA By Margaret Marconi Branch 8121 Secretary Our branch held its regular business meeting on Nov. 6 at St. Marys Parochial School annex. Final plans were made for our branch Christmas party, which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 2:00 p.m. All members are welcome to attend. Our branch will not be preparing holiday baskets this year. Instead, we have donated money to the local food bank for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. All current branch officers were reelected to serve our branch for 1997. Congratulations to all.
