Branch 800 Altoona, PA By Vincent Frank Branch 800 President It was a grand night at our May meeting, during which our branch, with the help of the Home Office, presented our 50- year membership awards. The 12 branch members honored were Charles Houck, Robert Stubler, Salvatore Sabatino, Donald Jones, William Adams, Leroy Douglas, Arthur Hartle, George Miller, Russell Gauntner, Edward Koegler, John Stoltz and Joseph Rahm. Some traveled a long distance to be with us that night. It was good to see our older members and reminisce with them. Thanks again to the Home Office for all of its kind help. Congratulations to Patrick Michael Rodkey who was recently given our branch’s annual religion award, presented annually to a student at Bishop Guilfoyle High School. A job well done, Patrick. Mark your calendar. Branch 800’s annual summer com boil and wiener roast will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Highland Park in Altoona. Register as you come into the park. It will be held, rain or shine, in a reserved shelter. Chairman for this event is Ray Stoltz with Bob Aikens as co-chairman. Please try to attend this affair with your family, enjoy the good food and get to know your fellow branch members. It was good to receive word from member John Greiner of Dallas, Texas, who informed me that he looks for the William Penn Life each month and reads it faithfully. Thank you, John, for writing and keeping me informed. While our meetings are in recess for the summer, keep in mind that if you have any questions concerning your insurance coverage or need help making a claim, call Branch Coordinator Robert Jones at 942-2661.
