McKeesport, pa—The william Penn Association Magyar Folk Dancers of McKeesport held their annual picnic Aug. 2 at Renzie Park in McKeesport. Guests enjoyed delicious Hungarian food and pastries, as well as a performance by the Magyar Folk Dancers. During the performance judges were busy selecting the new Miss Magyar of Western Pennsylvania from among the five young women of Hungarian descent who they had interviewed earlier. The same judges were also trying to decide which of 12 girls was to be named the new Hungarian Princess. The judges—Jack Klingensmith, Debra Heyz Myers and Darryl Segina—said the decisions were not easy. The tension was lifted when Mrs. Myers, Miss Magyar of Western Pennsylvania in 1978, announced the winners. The Hungarian Princess for 1992-93 is Elizabeth Stipkovits, daughter of Joy and Joe Stipkovits of McKeesport.
