The branch will host its annual summer outing at Geauga Lake Park on Sunday, Aug. 11. All tickets are advance sale only. Branch 18 Detroit, MI By Barbara Ann House Branch 18 Secretary I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and is now ready to think bowling tournament. I sure am. I can’t wait to see everyone again. All you team captains have received your paperwork, so get it in the mail as soon as possible. Remember to try to get all your team members to attend the banquet. Fraternalism and brotherhood is what this is all about. Branch 18 is planning a President’s Ball on April 20 to honor our newly elected president John Molnár and all our officers. This is a new affair for us, so please try to attend and make it a success. We will have an orchestra from Canada entertaining you, so it really should be fun. Our branch will also have a card party on June 10. Contact any officer or the club for tickets. The Ladies Auxiliary also has a card party planned for April 29. Tickets may be purchased from any member. But buy them now because these parties always sell out. Welcome back to many of our winter vacationers: the Korpaks, Soters, Olga Burinda and all the Thursday night crew. Hope you had a great time. You were missed. George Marton has been ill; we hope you’re feeling better soon, George. Our prayers are with you. Our condolences to the family of Alex Koroknay who passed away recently. See you soon. Branch 19 New Brunswick, NJ By Ruth Vasvary Branch 19 Vice President Hello, it’s spring and time to start gardens. Plant five rows of "peas”: preparedness, promptness, preservation, politeness, prayer. Next, plant three rows of "squash”: squash gossip, squash criticism, squash indifference. Then plant five rows of "lettuce”: let us be faithful, let us be loyal, let us be unselfish, let us love one another, let us be truthful. And no garden is complete without "turnips”: turn up for meetings, turn up with a smile, turn up with a new idea, turn up with real determination. Branch President Honored Two-hundred friends and coworkers of Branch 19 President Joseph P. Arvay honored him Jan. 18 at a testimonial dinner marking his retirement after more than 41 years of public service.
