Association plans tour of Hungary for August 1990 PITTSBURGH — If you are trying to decide where to go for your next vacation, then take a minute and picture yourself enjoying a two-week stay in Hungary and Austria where your air fare, hotels, most meals, sightseeing tours and ground transportation are all included for one special price. The William Penn Association is sponsoring such a tour for its members and friends Aug. 13 to 27, 1990. Guests joining our Hungary Tour ’90 will visit Hungary’s most beautiful and exciting cities and explore the country’s most famous and interesting historical sites. This year’s tour will also include a very special two-day excursion to Vienna, Austria, allowing you to sample the best of two cultures in one vacation. Our trip will begin Aug. 13 when guests board their Swissair jet for their flight to Budapest. You will arrive in Budapest the following day, check in at your hotel, then have the remainder of the day to relax. Day Three will begin with breakfast, then continue with a tour of the city. You will see Millenium Monument at Heroes Square, St. Stephen’s Crown at the National Museum and a panorama of the city from Gellert Hill. After lunch you’ll visit Matthias Church in the Castle District, Fisherman’s Bastion and the National Gallery in the Buda Castle. The next day you will travel to Miskolc. En route you will see the Matra mountains, wine country and the Medieval Castle and Cathedral at Eger. After an overnight stay in Miskolc, you will continue to Szeged. Along the way you’ll enjoy the horsemen in Hortobágy and lunch at a Csarda. You will see southern Hungary’s countryside with its many orchards and vineyards then arrive for your overnight stay in Szeged. Day Six includes visits to the lace museum at Kiskunhalas, the famous folk art museum at Kalocsa and lunch at a country Csarda. You will also drive through the main paprika growing region of Hungary before arriving for dinner and overnight stay in Pecs. After touring the Roman and Turkish relics of Pecs, you’ll continue on to Kesthely on Lake Balaton. While in this area you will visit the world famous Herend factory, take a tour of Gy or and see the Benedictine Abbey built in 966. On Day Nine you will leave Kesthely and head to Sopron where you will visit the famous Esterhazy Castle. The next morning you’ll be on your way to Austria for a tour of Continued on Page 2 WPA Caribbean Cruise set to sail April 28 PITTSBURGH — Association members are already lining up to board the William Penn’s Caribbean Cruise ’90, which will sail April 28 to May 5. The week-long cruise will be your ticket to an exciting tour of the western Caribbean with visits to four of the most beautiful ports of call in the region. Your trip will begin Saturday, April 28, when you fly from your hometown to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. There, you will board the newlyremodeled ssCostaRiviera, one of the jewels of the Italian Costa Cruise line. After a day at sea, you will dock first at Ocho Rios where the exquisite beaches and Jamaican rhythms will signal that you are in a different, exciting world. The next day you will visit Grand Cayman where the water is so clear you can see 200 feet below the surface. From there you will sail to Cozumel and its nearly endless supply of amazing bargains on fabulous Mexican arts and crafts. Then you will skip over to Playa del Carmen where you can tour its ancient Mayan cities and browse through the elegant shops of nearby Cancún. After another day at sea, you will return to Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, May 5. You can either fly home that day or, for a small additional fee, spend two nights at the Ft. Lauderdale Marriott. One- and two-night pre-cruise stays at the Marriott are also available at affordable rates. The fun, excitement and relaxation won’t be restricted to your ports of call, however. While at sea — or even in port — you may partake of the many amenities offered by the beautiful Costa- Riviera. The 700-foot-long ship features comfortable cabins, an elegant dining room, a casino, a showroom, shipboard shops, a complete fitness center and a crew eager to serve your every need.
