All entry forms must be postmarked no later than midnight April 21. Individual bowlers not on a team may enter the tournament. The Home Office will make every effort to place such bowlers on a team if they wish to participate in the team events. In addition to prizes for the top finishers in each event, all qualifying bowlers will have a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000. This special prize will be awarded to the bowler who scores a perfect 300 game. To be eligible to win the $10,000, a bowler must be a life benefit member of the William Penn Association by April 1, 1989, with at least one year’s premium paid. Only games bowled during the singles, doubles and team events will qualify. The weekend will kick-off with the annual meetings of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation and the Louis L. Varga Scholars Guild. The Scholarship Foundation meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel, headquarters for this year’s tournament. The Guild will hold its meeting immediately afterwards. Later that evening, all bowlers and their guests will be invited to a special bowlers reception. On Saturday morning, the weekend’s activities shift to Princess Lanes, the site of this year’s bowling competition. Bus transportation between the hotel and bowling lanes will be provided to all bowlers.
