Branch 159 Phoenixville, PA By William Kovach Branch 159 Coordinator The annual Christmas party for children of Branch 159 who are 16 years old or younger was held on Dec. 6 in the social room of the Parkside United Church of Christ. On behalf of the national officers, Branch Coordinator Bill Kovach welcomed all the children, parents and grandparents who attended. Santa Claus (played by Alvin Wallace) made his appearance and entertained the children with gifts and boxes of candy. He also had a gift for all the mothers and grandmothers. Each child had the opportunity to tell Santa their special request. Coloring books and crayons were also given to the children. Refreshments were enjoyed by all after Santa continued on his merry way. Caroline Kovach did a really great job with all the gift and candy preparations and refreshments. She was assisted by Linda Munz. In other branch news, the Parkside United Church of Christ held a Harvest Home Celebration on Nov. 22 in which all of our congregation was requested to bring in canned goods and nonperishable items for the needy. All of the Phoenixville local churches took part in this program.
