Robinson Branch 800 Reporter Branch 800 held its Christmas party Dec. 11,1987, at Our Lady of Lourds Church Hall on Broad Avenue, Altoona, Pa. One hundred and ten people attended, including 32 children. The party was a great success with plenty to eat for everyone and also table gifts for everyone. After the dinner we were entertained by a very good magician. Mr. Griener, the magician, used some of the children to help with the tricks. This made it more interesting for the children. When the entertainment was over Santa Claus (played by Denis Kovac) came in. We then sang some Christmas carols. After the songs Santa gave presents to the children, with the help of Branch Marshal Jim Stoner. The children were very happy to get their gifts. After Santa left Mr. Stoner gave out many door prizes to the adults. Jim Stoner should have the thanks of all as he was responsible for getting most of the gifts. Also the committee did a good job preparing and presenting this party. The party broke up about 9:30 p.m. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed it. In the spirit of the holiday season, Branch 800 gave Christmas baskets to the needy in Altoona, Pa., Hollidaysburg, Pa. and Juniata, Pa. Weadded$15.00 to the suggested cost of each basket.
