In Memóriám SÁNDOR LAKATOS PASSAIC, NJ — The members of Branch 51 Passaic were saddened by the death of Illustrious Mem­ber Sándor Lakatos on Jan. 1, 1988. He was 83. Mr. Lakatos was bom on Feb. 13,1905, in Hungary. He came to this country in 1938, settling first in Passaic and then in Garfield, NJ. where he was a resident for the past 32 years. He started his 47-year fraternal career with the former Rákóczi Aid Association and continued to serve in various branch offices in the William Penn Association. Most recently, he was re-elected as auditor at Branch 51. He was a member of St. Ste­phen’s Roman Catholic Magyar Church in Passaic and the church’s Holy Name Society. He also was a founder and member of the Amer­ican Hungarian Citizens League of Garfield. Mr. Lakatos was the father-in­­law of Branch 51 President Arthur Barillo. He is survived by his wife, Helen Simko Lakatos; a son, Alex­ander J. of Cedar Knolls, N.J.; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Martha) Barillo of Elmwood Park, N.J.; a brother, Vincent; and six grand­children. Services were held at St. Ste­phen’s Church with the Rev. Bela Torok, pastor, as celebrant. The eulogy was delivered by the Rev. Thomas Colletta. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook, N.J. Sandor’s wisdom and leader­ship was an inspiration to all of us and helped to guide us through many difficult times. Although the flame of his life is gone, his fraternal spirit is still with us in all our endeavors.
