In Memóriám ERNEST S. BENDZSUK, SR. HAZELW OOD, PA—The entire Association was saddened by the recent death of our former chief underwriter, Ernest S. Bendzsuk, Sr. Mr. Bendzsuk died of cancer Nov. 18,1987 at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was 64. He joined the staff at the Home Office in February 1956 and retir­ed 30 years later on Jan.31, 1986. In addition to his dedicated service to the Association, he took an active role in the Hungar­ian and civic affairs of the Hazel­wood community. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Soltez Bendzsuk; two daughters, Margaret Fedorke of Hazelwood and Katherine S. Grundza of Baden, Pa.; two sons, Ernest S. II of East Liberty, Pa. and Paul R. of Lincoln Place, Pa.; two grandchildren; his mother, Katherine Gyula Bendzsuk of Hazelwood; a brother, John F. of West Mifflin, Pa.; and a sister, Cecilia Molnár of Shaler, Pa. A funeral Mass was said for him on Nov. 23 at St. Ann Hung­arian Church in Hazelwood. Among those attending the service were the Association’s national officers. Entombment was in Calvary Mausoleum, Greenfield, Pa. We will miss his laughter, sar­castic wit and gardening tales. Rest in peace, Ernie. ANDREW BENNETT HAZELWOOD, PA — Andrew "Chief’ Bennett, 95, who was a catcher for the Pittsburgh Federals professional baseball team died Nov. 12, 1987, in Greenville Re­gional Medical Hospital, Mercer County, Pa. A member of the William Penn, Mr. Bennett was a coach in the Verhovay Little League of Branch 34 Pittsburgh during the 1930s. He had been a lifelong resident of Hazelwood until he moved to Mercer in 1986. He was a member of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburgh. He is survived by two daughters, Rita Beglin, with whom he resided in Mercer, and Ruth Patterson of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Elizabeth Clark of Pittsburgh; four grand­children and one great-grandchild. He was buried in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, Pa. SYLVESTER L. DELL The Association extends its deep­est sympathy to the family of fellow member Sylvester L. Dell, who passed away recently. Both his wife, Neva, and son, Carl, are members of the Associ­ation. May he rest in peace.
