Robinson Branch 800 Reporter Branch 800 annually gives an award to the senior at Bishop Guilfoil High School who made the highest average grade in Religion. This year, the award went to Dam Hoai Au of Fifth Avenue, Altoona. Branch Vice President Leroy Douglas recently presented the award to Dam. Dam came to this country when he was 5 years old. He served St. Mark’s Church in Altoona first as an altar boy and later as a lector. He also has received a scholarship to study law at the University of Pittsburgh. Dam intends to become a corporate lawyer. Branch 8020 McKees Rocks, PA The members of Branch 8020 met July 2 at St. Cyril and Methodius Church Hall to discuss plans for their cook out to be held Sunday, Sept. 6, at Mount St. George in Wellsburg, W.Va. Members also discussed the upcoming General Convention and the Mount St. George Family Festival. They also exchanged ideas on how to increase the branch’s membership. Branch 8036 Greensburg, PA Branch 8036 held a social and swim party at the home of Branch President Glenn Johnson on Aug. 17. The branch also met July 20 and urged all members to attend the Mount St. George Family Festival held Aug. 9. Branch 8050 Pittsburgh, PA Members of Branch 8050 met July 14 at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Harmarville, Pa. to discuss plans for their summer activities. The members decided to rent a bus to transport them to the Mount St. George Family Festival in Wellsburg, W.Va. Branch 8095 Uniontown, PA Branch 8095 held an outdoorindoor picnic Aug. 8 at St. Anthony’s Friary. All members, officers and friends who attended had an enjoyable day. Bruno Garden provided the entertainment and many members participated by playing bingo. Branch 8121 St. Marys, PA Branch 8121 held a combination business meeting and picnic July 26 at St. Marys School. Guest speaker Vera Vollmer spoke to the members about the new Women’s Department at the local hospital. She attended the opening of the department and gave a good description of the much needed division. The members voted to buy raffle tickets for the Mount St. George Family Festival. Many members planned to attend the festival. At the picnic, everyone received a flower and a door prize. The event featured fun games, a delicious lunch and a friendly atmosphere. The branch also met on Aug. 5 and signed birthday cards for the residents at the Mount St. George Home for the Elderly. Branch 8243 Wellsburg, WV The members of Branch 8243 met July 21 at the Mount St. George Home for the Elderly to discuss a merger with Wellsburg Branch 8309. The branch will meet next on Sept. 29 at Mount St. George. Branch 8321 Windber, PA Members of Branch 8321 met July 26 to make plans for the St. Anthony Church Bazaar held in early August. They also discussed the restorations to the bell at the church cemetery. The members of Branch 8321 also extend their sympathy to the family of fellow member Sam Stevens who died recently. Branch 8326 Smithton, PA Members of Branch 8326 met July 26 at St. Timothy’s Church to discuss plans for the annual church picnic. Branch members will join members of other church organizations for "A Night at the Races” on Nov. 11. Branch 8369 Philadelphia, PA Members of Branch 8369 met June 16 to discuss the results of the recent senior citizens dinner and the branch’s trip to West Point Park in August. The members extended their sympathy to brother Massara on the death of his father.
