Officers and Directors Elected to Posts By BARBARA B. BOTKIN, National Director Congratulations to the follow­ing officers and directors and to their families on the recent elec­tions to fraternal and public offices. John F. Kenawell, Executive Vice President of the William Penn Association, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Con­gress at its annual meeting held recently in Erie, PA. Mr. Kenawell was President of the former Catholic Knights of St. George which merged with the William Penn. He is a member of the Association’s Board of Directors and serves as Presi­dent of Mt. St. George. A native of Hollidaysburg, Mr. Kenawell is a licensed Pennsylvania Real Estate and Insurance Broker and is a partner and president of Decker & Kenawell Assoc., a real estate and insurance agen­cy located in Hollidaysburg. He served in the U.S. Navy and is active in church and communi­ty service organizations. Mr. Kenawell and his wife, the former Linda M. Bayle, are the parents of five children, Carolyn, John, Christina, Jen­nifer and Lynette, and reside in Gibsonia. Elected National Vice Presi­dent of the Association at the 1983 Convention, he serves as a member of the Board of Direc­tors and the Executive Commit­tee. Mr. Lang has received the Illustrious Citation Award as a 50 Year Member of the Asso­ciation. He is married to the former Wilma Kunya. They have three children, Stephanie, Gregory and Barbara, and six grand­children. Stephen Michael Lang, Jr. William J. Haberstroh, Na­tional Director of the William Penn Association, was recent­ly elected to a four-year term as District Attorney of Blair Coun­ty, Pennsylvania. Mr. Haber-William J. Haberstroh stroh was a member of the Board of Directors of the former Catholic Knights of St. George which merged with the William Penn. A graduate of St. Francis College of Loretto, PA and the University of Kentucky College of Law, he served as a Lieuten­ant in the U.S. Navy and cur­rently holds the rank of Lt. Commander in the Standby Reserves. He was associated in the general practice of law since his admission to the Bar in 1972 and currently serves as Secretary of Blair County Bar Association and is a member of its Board of Governors. He is also a member of Blair County, PA and American Bar Associa­tions, a member of the Penn­sylvania Trial Lawyers Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Board of Family and Children’s Services, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and former direc­tor and solicitor of the Altoona JayCees. Mr. Haberstroh and his wife, the former Sue A. Miller, are the parents of three children, Lisa, Joseph and Robert, and reside in Holli­daysburg. Albert G. Kertesz, serving in his fourteenth year on the Board of Directors of the William Penn Association, was elected a member of the Ex­ecutive Committee of the Ohio Fraternal Congress recently held in Cleveland. Mr. Kertesz is a retired Inventory Manage­ment Specialist for the Defense Supply Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense. He worked for the government for 34 years during which time he received several awards for superior service. Mr. Kertesz served as a member of William Penn's National Auditing Com­mittee from 1968 to 1971, has been Co-Administrator of three National Bowling Tournaments and currently serves on the Ex­ecutive Committee of the Board of Directors. Since 1951 Mr. Kertesz has hosted “The Music of Hungary” radio program each Sunday afternoon from Dayton, Ohio. He serves on the Board of Trustees for South­western Ohio Public Radio, Inc. Albert G. Kertész who are the owners of WQRP­­FM and WCXL-FM. He is a charter member and past presi­dent of the Magyar Club of Dayton from which he received an Outstanding Achievement Award in 1964. In 1984 the Magyar Club honored him with an award for promoting Hungarian culture through radio broadcasting. Mr. Kertesz is married to the former Anne Murin. They have three children, Albert G., Jr., Joseph A., and Ann Marie, and four grandchildren. John F. Kenawell Stephen Michael Lang, Jr., a 22-year member of the William Penn Association Board of Directors was recently elected a Commissioner of Bethlehem Township, Bethlehem, PA. Mr. Lang, a long-time Democrat, beat out two other candidates to fill the unexpired term of another Township Commis­sioner. Rules and Commission Rates Applying to William Penn Fun Loving Currency Commission will be paid the first year only on the following Plans (No Renewals): Ordinary Life 30% Mortgage Protector 30% Yearly Renewable Term 17.5% Single Premium Whole Life 3.5% Single Premium & Flexible Annuity 1.25% 5 Year Term 17.5% Decreasing Term to 95 17.5% Mr. Lang is a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Company where he worked 41 years as a Safety Engineer. He also served as Councilman for the Borough of Fountain Hill from 1963-1971 and Assistant Superintendent of Parks for the City of Bethlehem from 1950 to 1952. The Commissions will be paid in William Penn Fun Loving Currency in units of $5.00 each. Commissions earned will not be paid in cash. The Fun Loving Currency may be used as cash at any William Penn Fraternal Function, especially during the 100th ANNIVERSARY. Main purpose is to Foster Fraternalism and increase membership. In order for the Proposer to receive the comission the Referral must be a Bona-Fide Lead. In other words, the Sales Representative should be able to obtain a Sales Interview under favorable circumstances. 6
