New Officers of the William Penn Association At the recent 30th General Convention held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the newly elected Officers were John Sabo, National President; Albert J. Stelkovics and Stephen M. Lang, Jr., National Vice-Presidents; Gus G. Nagy, National Secretary and John L. Lovász, National Treasurer. John Sabo of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, will leave his duties as a 1 3 year member of the actuarial staff of Bruce and Bruce Company to assume the 4 year presidential term which begins January 1, 1984. JOHN SABO Mr. Sabo was Controller of the Association for 26 years. In October 1 969, he resigned to take a position with Associated Life in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly after his position with Associated Life, Mr. Sabo assumed new duties with Bruce and Bruce Company, Inc. In 1971, he was elected a National Director of the William Penn Association, a post he held through the Convention of this year, at which time he was elected National President. ALBERT J. STELKOVICS Albert J. Stelkovics, started his long and faithful dedicated career with the William Penn Association on May 1, 1940 when he worked for the Rákóczi Aid Association in Bridgeport, Connecticut. With 40 years of experience, Mr. Stelkovics could tell you a lot about the Rákóczi, the Verhovay Aid Association, the mergers, the conventions and the achievements. He retired from office as National Secretary- Treasurer on June 27, 1980 but returned in June 1981 as Acting Secretary. Mr. Stelkovics and wife Mary live in the North Hills section of Pittsburgh. They have a daughter, Kathy Eitel living in Chicago and 4 grandchildren. Stephen M. Lang, Jr., comes from a truly dedicated William Penn Association family and all are members, including the grandchildren. STEPHEN M. LANG, Jr. Mr. Lang served the Association as an Officer of Branch 98, Bethlehem, Pa., and is now Secretary-Treasurer. Since 1 963, he has served with distinction as a member of the Board of Directors. His father, Stephen Lang, Sr., had been with the Association for over 50 years and was a National Director from 1 939 to 1 963 and his son, Dr. Gregory Lang has served as the Association's Medical Director. He is retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation; resides in Bethlehem with his wife Wilma. They have 3 children, Stephanie Richardson, Dr. Gregory Lang and Barbara Yates. Gus G. Nagy the National Secretary, has served the Association in several capacities since 1953. He became a full-time Field Representative, later promoted to Field Supervisor and then Western Regional Manager covering all states West and South of Pennsylvania. He then served as Vice President — Membership Services, Acting Treasurer and then National Secretary-Treasurer in September 1981. GUS G.NAGY Mr. Nagy is married to the former Elizabeth Rinkacs. They have 3 children, Roger Gus, Gareth John and Gail Elizabeth and two grandchildren. John L. Lovász, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, served as Assistant to the National Treasurer of the former Rákóczi Aid Association of Bridgeport, where he was employed since 1946. JOHN L. LOVÁSZ After the merger of the Rákóczi and Verhovay societies in 1956, he moved to Pittsburgh and attended Duquense University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. John has 3 children, Ken, Cathy and John. WE WISH ALL OF THESE OFFICERS SUCCESS AS THEY ASSUME THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AND A FRUITFUL AND PROSPEROUS TERM OF OFFICE. 7
