William Penn Life, 1983 (18. évfolyam, 1-4. szám)

1983-07-01 / 3. szám

Here are the champions from Branch 18 — Seated, left to right: Mary Molnár, Captain; Agnes Kamm. Standing, left to right: Joni Leake, Helen Fekete and Theresa Samuel. All in all, we believe that this tournament was indeed, well organized, well planned, and carried out to the utmost of perfection. True, there will always be some little discussions, here or there, but to handle a tournament with 66 teams is a job, let alone a time consuming job, because some of us fail to follow instructions. However, this was at a minimal, so we still feel it was a well run tournament. Many thanks to all the people who helped make it a success. Our ladies at the registrations put in long hours to greet the bowlers as they arrived, and gave them their packets. Many thanks to Chairperson, Betty Holguin, together with her helpers, Julia Danko, Marie Pribanyec, Mary Molnár and Tillie Jagadics. Also, the Hospitality Room Helpers, Olga and Jim Burinda, Betty and Joe Soter, Stephen P. Danko, and Andy Toth. We hereby wish to give special thanks to our President, one who worked hard on this tournament, together with the National Officers. Thank you Mr. President, for a job well done! On Saturday evening, June 18th, the Club held a Dinner Dance for everyone who had a birthday in the month of June, together with their friends. These events are always so happy, especially when the menu is the “Wooden Platter”. Father’s Day was also celebrated by many, at the Social Club. What better place to take Dad but to the Club where he will be with his family and friends, to enjoy his day in a relaxing atmosphere. On June 26th, we honored our William Penn 50 year members at the Wm. Penn Social Club, with a dinner. They enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared with an extra touch by Steve Szatmári and his kitchen crew. Branch President, Stephen Danko welcomed the honorees and all guests. Mr. Albert J. Stelkovics, former National Secretary, Director, and his wife Mary were introduced; they had travelled from Pittsburgh, Pa., for this special occasion. Mr. Stelkovics commended the honorees for their faithful service to the Association and presented each member with a framed membership citation and 50 year pin.
