Epitaph . . . (Continued from Page 5) money and sacrifice had gone into these deliberations. From both societies, there were individuals who sought ways for the HRFA to revive negotiations. This was accomplished when the FIRFA submitted to WPA, by Board action, those by-law points which in their opinion, needed elimination, correction, modification, addition, etc. The WPA By-Laws Committee met Saturday, September 11, to review these requested changes and our reply was communicated personally to their President, Sunday, September 12, 1982. As a result, the By-Law Committees of both societies agreed to meet in joint session Saturday, September 18, 1982 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As with any negotiations, after a day-long session, complete accord was reached on by-laws text and as a result, both societies now agreed to call a Special Convention of their delegates for Saturday, November 27, 1 982 in Pittsburgh. As required by law, the text of the Consolidation Agreement was published in the respective official publications, 60 days prior to the Special Convention. A joint convention was scheduled for Sunday, November 28, 1982 to approve the new bylaws, charter and install the Officers, Directors and Auditing Committee Members, presently in office, their term being extended to 1986 by Agreement. At the regular Board Meeting on November 13, 1982, the WPA Board decided that the Officers discuss with HRFA the possibility of retaining the William Penn name for the Consolidated Society. The following Resolution was adopted and communicated to the Federation: RESOLUTION Resolved by the Board, in regular quarterly meeting assembled that, WHEREAS, Directors and Officers have received many reports from our delegates, members and agents strenuously objecting to the Consolidation Agreement provision changing the name of the society and requesting the Board to reconsider the matter since approval of the whole agreement will be in jeopardy. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board, after serious (Continued on Page 7) Delegate and Area Delegate Districts As Established By The Board of Directors in Accordance with Chapter II, Section 1 of the By-Laws DELEGATE DISTRICTS Branch No.Location Delegate District District Secretary No. of Delegates 720 Boston, Mass. 001 Louis Varga 8 001 Bridgeport, Ct. 002 Frank Bero 8 048 New York, N.Y. 003 Joseph Toma 3 383 067 Buffalo, N.Y.
