(Continued from Page 6) consideration and debate, that the Board believes that the best interests of our membership and that of the Consolidated Society could be served by retaining the name William Penn Association, that the Officers of the two societies meet forthwith to review and discuss this issue and communicate the Federations response to the Board. By call of roll, the vote was 16 for and 1 against. The request for a Joint Officers Meeting was denied and we were informed that the Federation Officers decided to call a Special Board Meeting on November 21st to discuss this matter. Since we could not meet with the Officers of the Federation, the Board's Resolution became mute which called for reconsideration of the Resolution and the Board was polled on November 17 and by a vote of 1 5-0, it was resolved to rescind the request. On November 1 8, 1982, the following telegram was sent to the HRFA: "The William Penn Board withdraws request to discuss name change. Reconfirms approval of the Consolidation Agreement as is. Pledge to support it at the Special Convention on November 27, 1982.'' The HRFA Special Board Meeting, on November 21, 1982, also decided to hold the Special Convention on November 27, 1982. The Special William Penn Convention was called to order at 9:20 A.M. by Mr. Elmer Charles, National President (Excerpts of the Special Convention Minutes can be found elsewhere in this publication). The Consolidation Agreement was reviewed and discussed page by page. Upon completion of the review and all questions answered, a roll call was requested. There were 1 10 aye votes and 0 nay votes, no abstentions; thus, the Consolidation Agreement was unanimously adopted. National Vice Presidents, John P. Balia and Louis L. Varga were requested to communicate to the HRFA Convention the result of the WP Convention action. Vice President Varga informed our delegates that the HRFA acknowledged our report with thanks. The Articles of Consolidation were read and after discussion, unanimously adopted. (Continued on Page 10)
