Wukovits, Sr. National Director Branch 132 South Bend, Indiana The Annual Children’s Christmas Party was held on Saturday afternoon on December 18, 1982, in the William Penn Hall at 2:00 P.M. Gathered were a group of enthusiastic children, with their parents and even some of their grandparents who came to enjoy the delightful program. As usual the Christmas program was opened with National Director Frank J. Wukovits, Sr., welcoming the children and their parents, with greetings on behalf of the Home Office and Branch 132 Officers and Directors. Next in line was the singing of Christmas carols led by choresters, Mark Wentland, Christopher Wentland, Karen Wukovits and John Horvath. Kathleen Wukovits accompanied on the piano and everyone joined in the singing. This year again, the children and their families were entertained by a national professional magician Alexander the Great. He had everyone at attenlion for an hour with many new tricks up his sleeves. After this, Christmas carols were sung again until the arrival of the number one man, Santa Claus, in the person of Charles Hegedűs. He made a good one. Santa presented each of the children with Christmas stockings filled with candy and a small toy and each of the children had the choice of a beautiful toy or game. Door prizes were also on the agenda and the prizes were won by: 1st prize, Jeffery Nemeth; 2nd prize, Bethany A. Dobrzykowski, and 3rd prize by Steven Dobrzykowski. After the gifts were all distributed the children and their parents were served pop, ice cream, and potato chips by Santa’s helpers, namely, Mrs. Mary Ann Wukovits, Mrs. Theresa Myers and Mrs. Helen V. Sabo. Also contributing their services and help were Frank J. Wukovits, Jr., Arthur Wolford, Mark Benzur and Michael Kovach. The Christmas Party then was closed with a carol or two. Meanwhile in the kitchen Mrs. Mary Suppinger, Mrs. Elizabeth Cifra, Mrs. Eva Benzur, Mrs. Goldie Pal, and Mrs. Virginia Wolford, were preparing a delicious chicken supper to be served this evening for the benefit of all those members who worked so faithfully during the year of 1982.
